    Beware before you buy... I bought these axles for two reasons: 1) so that I didn't have to sand the ones that came with the Pinewood derby car kit (I hate that part), and 2) for the grooves that supposedly make the axles faster. When I got the product it stated on the package that burs on the axles are standard in the manufacturing process and need to be sanded off. There goes my #1 reason for purchasing it. So I sanded the burrs off. I then went to assemble the wheels on the car and found that the axles were too thick to fit in the standard wheels! I would have had to drill a larger hole in each wheel to make these even work. So in the end I wasted a half hour sanding axles that I couldn't even use, let alone the money that I spent for them. What a waste! 1Careful with the diameter... Doesn't fit BSA Wheels! I was very surprised to find that these axles are too large to fit the standard BSA wheels for derby car builds. The design and finish of the axles appeared to be great, but the axle itself has too large a diameter. I attempted to drill-out the BSA wheel bores to a larger size to fit these axles... but that resulted in a sloppy fit. I ended up just throwing these away. I would not advise purchasing these axles if you plan to use them with the "standard" Boy Scouts of America wheels! 3waste of money The package came with a note about me needing go file off the burs on the inside of the nail head. So I figured that sucks since I paid $10 for them. As i filed off the burs I looked close at the nails and they appeared to be cast metal. So I figured that sucks since I paid $10 for them. I then put them in my drill and when the spun I noticed they weren't even strait. At least when my son's hopes and dreams are crushed at the pinewood derby I'll have someone to blame. 1Axles don't fit!! These axles are larger than the standard wheel hub. Don't waste your time or money. I would rate these a minus 5 if I could. 1
