Pretty cool magnetic dust, but you will also need...This is a really cool dust, I got it as a gift to a 6 year old and its was so cool and unexpected even for adults, the whole family was excited to play around. BUT before you make a purchase you'll need two other things for this toy which unfortunately is sold separately, I wish it was sold as a set or offered as one, to spare you time in search for other stuff.#1. You will need a good container that seals not a glass bowl as shown, the magnetic dust particles are very small sand-like so you need something solid and clear. We tried plastic water bottle.#2. You will need a good strong magnet or multiple magnets to achieve maximum effect. We used little thin magnets from some kid's toy, they weren't too strong but trying it out we know now what to get.Other than that I highly recommend this product. Its pretty heavy and comes in a spice-looking plastic container, would probably need 2 container to have a more dramatic effect or a stronger magnet... Give it a try! 4Gift add-onI purchased a magnetic zen garden as a gift but the reviews said it was low on magnetic sand, so I decided to get this as extra to go along with the gift. I think it will work quite nicely and even without the zen garden, it looks like it will be a lot of fun with plain ole magnets. 5You have to use quite a bit or have a VERY strong magnet to make magnetic slime out of but for the price it is great.Works well enough. I did a big mason jar with 2 packs of this iron. It works great. We need to be careful with the magnet (to not break the glass). I bought it for my 12 year old son's school project where he had to teaching the class how to make something. He taught the class how to make magnetic slime which is simply adding the iron powder to a regular slime recipe. I purchased 2 containers which was exactly enough iron powder to provide 1 tbs. for each of the 28 students in his class and 2 tbs. for the two samples we made. So a little goes a long way. 5
