Bad design, good idea.Product arrived with no instructions what so ever. So I had to figure out that the tube connecting to the thank had to be connected....but the connector was behind a plastic piece that was a few inches into the tank body. I had to pull out all the bottom screws to get to the tank. Also, my son played with this product literally for 5 minutes when the strap broke off one side. Do not buy this item not worth the headache... 1Great if you have baby sized hands!Very very poor quality. To connect the hose to the backpack I had to fold my hand in half and manipulate the tiny hose with 2 fingers. After about 35 tries I got it to connect. It doesn't stay connected though so practice this many times until you master it. There will be a lot of it in your future.Overall it feels very cheap. It's not a great quality at all. I was disappointed. All my son asked for for Christmas was a fire hose. I thought this would be great. I was wrong! Don't waste your money on this one. 2My Little Firefighter LOVES This!I was excited by the low price, at first; then we received it, and I understood why. It is very cheaply made, and it looks like it won't hold up to rough play. BUT....my 2 1/2 year old, who loves anything fireman-related, loved it immediately. He's been outside with it, two days in a row, so far, putting out fires all over our yard. The photos I've gotten, of him in his fire helmet & this backpack are just precious. Cons: the hose is a little hard to insert into the backpack, as the attachment area is beyond the reach of one's fingers (we needed to use a flashlight to see into the hole on the bottom of the backpack, where you insert it). There was a small amount of leakage right after we filled the backpack for the first time, too, which was disappointing. BUT...once my son had the backpack on and started squirting the hose, the leak seemed to stop, and his back didn't get totally wet, as I had thought it would. This is definitely going to be part of his Halloween costume, this year (minus the water). TIP: We used a twisty tie from a bread loaf to tie the two backpack straps together, so they wouldn't fall off his shoulders. BUT we later found a small tie with velcro on it, that we believe is for this purpose, looped around one of the shoulder straps (it's easy to miss!). The instructions with the unit are very sparse, and it would have been nice had they mentioned the inclusion of this small strap, but luckily we found it. The twisty tie worked just as well, though. TIP: Your local fire station probably has red plastic kids' fire helmets to give away to young visitors, so pay them a visit! We have collected several, over our many visits to the fire stations in our area. 4Great addition to a Fireman costume. Lots of fun to use in a water fight! Great for young kidsI bought this to use with my son's Melissa and Doug Fireman costume. It has fairly good range when shooting the water and was a tiny bit big for a 4-year old but we made it work. The blue plastic part did pop off after being hit on the ground about 20 times on Halloween, but a little bit of super glue worked wonders and haven't had any problems since. He wore it again for his birthday party this month and we haven't had any other issues with breaking pieces or things falling apart like I have read in other reviews! 4My nephew loved this and it irritated the hell out of my ...My nephew loved this and it irritated the hell out of my sister in law. He wanted to play with it all the time and as a result was constantly squirting her. 5Awesome toy for my kids and their friendsI already ordered a total of 8 of these hoses with multiple orders. So far there were 8 happy kids! I got those for my kids and for other birthday friends. Every single item was perfect and brought lots of joy to those little boys and even my little 2 year old daughter. So far none of the fire hoses broke but remember those are toys and toys do brake eventually. Just don't make this stop you from making your little child happy :-) 5fun toyI bought this for my three year old. It fits perfect on his back. It does have adjustable straps. It gets filled up with water and then he shoots the water outside. He loves pretending he is putting out fires and uses this when he is wearing his fireman play coat. He has no trouble shooting the water by himself. He is rough with his toys and had this toy for almost a year now and it still looks fine. He is now using it as part of his Halloween costume since he wants to go a fireman. This is a high quality toy that most young kids will like. 5Not so much easy to flow.The ad says easy to fill with water bottle, faucet or hose. My son watched the ad several times. It does not fit in our bathroom sink. The hole is about as wide as my finger, so by the time I filled it up in the kitchen sink it was dripping water everywhere. My second time filling it up I grabbed a water pitcher. The straps by this point were soaking wet from all the water that didn't fit in the small hole. Next time I'll try a funnel. No way my 6 year old could fill it independently.Doesn't hold as much as I thought either (probably 32 ounces). The back pack feature I have mixed feeling about, it's great but the nozzle is a 2 hand job so you can't hold the tank and spray you have to wear the tank. My son likes to go also hold the nozzle and drag the tank (my suspicion is that it will break quickly but due to rough play but I will have to blame my son for that). Compared to a cheap one we owned that broke quickly this is a big improvement. But this one is still far from perfect. 3MehMy 5 year old wanted a "Fireman water hose" & a "Jet Pack" for Christmas. This is was Santa brought him. It's a good concept but the silver on the handle started rubbing off immediately and the hose part fell apart piece by piece within days. And we never let him fill it with water because there's no way to clean it so I can't even imagine how nasty the inside would get.The only reason I gave it 3 stars is because after 6 months, he still loves to wear what's left of it - the tank & straps. I'd love to see this as a solid piece not meant to hold water with a hose that doesn't come apart. 3Cheap, But The Best Buy Ever!Since this product wasn't very expensive, I don't expect this to last very long. I am crossing my fingers that it does though because my 3 year old LOVES this fire hose. We bought him a Melissa and Doug Fire Chief Role Play Costume and he wears this fire hose backpack while he dresses up. He is obsessed with being a firefighter, so this fire hose was a perfect Christmas gift for him. If we let him, he'd wear it to bed...no joke! We haven't put water in it yet as it's too cold right now. I don't know if it will last until it warms up, but if it does, I will update my review. I think my 5 year old secretly wants one too! Perfect gift for a future firefighter! 5
