Cheap, not age-appropriate, don t buyThis is NOT a good purchase. Super cheap- huge case and barely any toys. Not child-friendly. The bulb for the pressure cuff is so stiff ots hard for even me to squeeze. If it didn t cost just as much to return it as it did to buy it, I would send it eighth back. Very disappointed. 1Bad design and quality, look for something elseI've bought many of the B brand products (mostly thru target) so I thought this would be good quality but it was a major let down. It's for 18mo+ but I couldn't even use half the items. For example the scissors stick and you basically need 2 hands, the syringe stopper doesn't even fit/stay in the tube part rendering it useless, the tweezers are set in the close position rather than open so these are also useless.We mainly bought this for the stethoscope that had the fake heartbeat sound and though it does have that, the stethoscope is poorly made/designed. The ear buds are excruciating to wear, so painful that my child will not wear them and when I tried them I quickly understood why. The plastic also contorts when you spread them to put them on so the entire thing twists and makes it harder to use because your are sort of fighting it, and then the tubing bends and further twists more. Because it is painful to wear and twists when you try to use it my child just wears it around his neck (rather than in his ears) & pretends so it's even more disappointin because this was the item we bought it for.... It comes in a huge tackle type box that in theory is nice but the 9 pcs barely fill the bottom so there is 3/4 or more of empty space. It should have been in a smaller case. We already tore off the stickers and turned it into an carrying case for other toys and put the medical pcs into something else. 1Why so big?!?My daughter LOVES this. I am an audiologist in an ENT office and my husband is a hearing aid dispenser so obviously the otoscope is her favorite piece. So funny to watch her look in everyone s ears. The pieces are well make and most of them (thermometer, I m looking at you) look true-to-life. My gripe with this set though is the box. Why is it so large though?? It takes up SO much space for tiny little instruments. We actually ended up buying her another medical kit with a smaller bag and put all of the pieces in that one. They almost nailed it. 3Great product! A year later & holding up to wild toddler!Purchased this for my son last year for Christmas when he was just over 2yrs old. The kit is really nice, well made & durable. My son can demolish unbreakable items with ease, but the pieces we ve managed to not lose (pager, scissors & mirror piece are wherever all my left socks are I assume ) are still in perfect working order.The box is big, which bugged me at first when all the packaging was removed & it looked virtually empty with everything in it...but bandages and other items have been added. I m actually getting a different kit with a variety of new tools to add to it this Christmas...so it s perfect!At 3yrs old now he still plays with it regularly and occasionally my 9yo daughter will too! 5Not for an 18 month old childThe beeper doesn't beep, the stethoscope earpieces are so large that they hurt my grandson's ear (plus there is a permanent bend in the stethoscope tubing that distressing my grandson), the scissors need two hands to work, the tweezers a molded in a closed position so they can't be used and the box is so big that he can't carry it without banging his legs. You can fit a two liter bottle into the case with room to spare. I bought this because my grandson has had multiple surgeries and thought it would help with the surgeries to come. I foolishly bought it ahead of time so now that we've discovered the problems it's two days too late to return the set. My grandson was very disappointed. 1My daughter love it.We bought this Kit for my daughter and she loves it. The set quality are sturdy and easy to use. My daughter is 3 years old and she really like playing like a doctor or nurse. We are planing to get more set or add on for her. She really enjoy playing with this set. We have this set for almost 5 months now. We would recommend this for you to get for your little girl, niece or any toddler. 5Perfect for a sibling meeting their new baby brother or sister!We had our new baby give this to our two toddler boys when they visited at the hospital. The boys loved how similar the toys were to the actual items. The stethoscope has a heart beating sound.We explained the purpose of a pager, but they didn't understand one bit!I like the variety of tools and the quantity. The carrying doctor's box is a good size for all the medical goodies.Everything is well made and the colors are unique and pleasant.This is my two-year-old checking my heart. Later that day, his brother showed him how to put the stethoscope in his ears. Very happy with this toy! 5Poorly designedThis set has too many flaws to be worth it, in my opinion. The only really nice part is the stethoscope, because it has a fake heartbeat that my kids love. But the ear pieces awkward. They don't fit inside the ears, because they're too big, and they barely stay on if you put them on the outside of the ear. My kids end up just hanging the stethoscope around their necks instead, and using it like that. The heartbeat is sorta loud enough to still hear.The worst piece is the blood pressure cuff. The darn bulb is so stiff that even I find it hard to squeeze, and for the kids it's absolutely impossible. And even when I squeeze it, depending on how the air blows, the needle doesn't always spin, or it spins too fast to see. So the cuff is junk.The thermometer doesn't look anything like a thermometer. I don't know what they were thinking with that. It's clear, round and hollow like a syringe, with a slider thing for the temperature reading...??? I've never seen a thermometer like that, not even the old school mercury ones. So nobody recognizes it as such and the kids use it as a second syringe.Oh, and speaking of the syringe - the plunger comes all the way out, and way too easily, too, so it got lost quickly.The tweezers are curved so they always stay in the closed position, and are really hard to force open. So they're useless.And the box for this set is gigantic, as others have pointed out, taking up too much space for just a few items at the bottom.All in all, this set was a total disappointment. 2Good shape and 9 pieces of equipmentWonderful, wonderful. Our 3.5 year old grandson will be very pleased with this doctor's kit. I chose the kit partially because of its shape, which will set firmly on a flat surface when he opens the two latches which I think will be easy for him to open. Some of the kits that are a different shape can have one side fall open if not latched tightly or have equipment fall out when one side is raised up. I also purchased the kit because it contains 9 pieces of doctor's equipment, which I can supplement with items such as band aids and tongue depressors, according to age of child. When wearing the stethoscope, the child presses on a large red button and holds down; the result gives a heartbeat sound. With two AAA batteries (not supplied), the pager produces three sounds when the child presses on buttons. As someone commented, they are noisy sounds, but you can remove the pager if you think the sounds will be too annoying. I commend B. Toys for their efforts to recycle when possible. I purchased a lab coat for him to use as a doctor's coat: Childrens Lab Coat--Soft Touch (4). Sold by: BargainChildrensClothing & More! 5Fun for toddlersThis is a cute play set for toddlers. B toys has become one of my favorite children's brands. Their toys are colorful and seem to be great quality. Note that the beeper doesn't come with batteries, so have those ready to go when your child opens. My only complaint is the case is big, there is so much extra space. I would rather have it more compact so it would fit into a smaller toy bin. Great size if you want to add more doctor toys though. 4
