Ours was a dud...borax too weak?The borax solutions seems way too dilute. Maybe a fluke? But we followed the recipes exactly and could only get a little glob of slime around our stirring stick. Added more borax a bit at a time and could still only get a little glob. Added more glue to no avail. I am a science teacher and we have very successfully used maddie rae's products off of amazon along with just elmer's glue and borax powder made into solution several times at school with great success. Compared to those experiments this set was a huge dud with a big price tag. Pass on this kit and get basic ingredients... there are so many places for free slime recipes online... babbledabbledo.com, slimemaking.com, etc. Got this for my kid to do at home so he could do what we were doing at school... big disappointment! 1Best birthday gift!I thought the whole slime craze was just a passing fad - but it's still going strong and my kids are so happy! I love that this comes with everything you need already pre-measured, with mixing sticks and mixing cups - because if your kids have ever made their own, you know that it's a pain to get the gunk off your cereal bowls. I set down a big piece of parchment paper under their work space on the counter, and there was ZERO mess to clean up. Okay - and the color bags that it comes with?? They're the best! It was so funny to watch my youngest get impatient with the sun setting, because she couldn't wait to see it really glow in the dark! Such a great product - this is my new go-to for birthday gifts. 5Not a good buy at allNot much to it. I should have just went and bought the slime ingredients. Not a good buy at all.. Do not purchase this, what a waste of money. 1Awesome slime kit with everything you need in one boxGreat slime making kit! As a busy mom, I seriously appreciated having everything we need to make slime with my 6-year-old daughter right there in one box. No more hunting in all our cupboards for the last bit of glue or messing up my dishes with experiments! Perfect amount of supplies to make several batches of slime. Nicely packaged and extremely clear directions. We enjoyed doing this together on a rainy winter day! We found sometimes we had to add more Borax liquid than expected to get the consistency we wanted, which was a great way to learn about chemistry. Our favorite part was the slime add-ins -- glow powder, finely ground glitter, etc. The instruction book comes with a bunch of slime recipes, not just your basic type, which prolonged the fun experience. I plan to get more of these and stash in cupboard for easy go-to activities. 5This easy to use kit has everything you needBought this kit for my 9-year old son's birthday, and he loved it. Everything you need was right in the kit, and portioned out so that he didn't have large containers of "ingredients" to deal with. He was able to make it by himself, without a lot of mess. When you follow the directions, it doesn't make too much slime, and has small containers included to store the slime, so not a lot of waste. So far he's made the color changing slime, and it works! Great idea! 5size and description is deceptiveThis box was a lot smaller than I had assumed it to be- but that wasn't the main issue. The product description states over 10 recipes- which I have to admit, was my bad for assuming- but there is only enough of the essential supplies for 2 batches of slime. It was slightly disappointing for my daughter. There are also a lot of left over supplies because they give you all the stuff to make the 10 different recipes, with the exception of the borax and whatever the other stuff is. You child just has to decide on which 2 recipes to make. If I had it to do over again, I would have gone with a much larger slime kit as my daughter is really into that right now. 3Crazy about the SLIME!I'm not sure which craze is bigger the fidget spinner or the slime, but what i do know is that this kit is just great because a trip to Hobby Lobby to get all the things we'd need to make the slime will cost me so much more!This kit comes with everything you need to make a good amount of slime (I saw at least 5 kinds that my son made).I love that it comes with the recipes so if you kid is an independent reader they will be able to do it on their own! Winning!I let him do it outside so clean up was easier... 5Small. Glitter everywhere!Blue glitter everywhere! Glitter was leaking out of the slime box and all over the packing box. The package is much smaller then I expected, I was thinking it would be much larger and make a lot of slime in each kind. 2Super easy and fun!This is such a good idea! Slime making is all the rage right now and my boys are constantly bugging me to get the stuff to make some. I can be very crafty when I have time, but when a friend told me about this kit, I thought it was awesome because now I don't have to search everywhere for all the stuff and they can do some cool (and very messy) experiments! They LOVED the glow in the dark slime the most, followed closely by the clear glitter slime.They have already begged me to let them make more tomorrow. I think we'll try for a bouncy ball next.The instructions are really quite good and makes it easy for the kids to follow along. It is very messy at some points and we found by adding more borax solution, it was much easier to get the consistency and less sticking. Definitely use something to protect your surface that is disposable (we used a cheap vinyl party tablecloth). 5Super High Quality & Interesting for Parents TooI bought this kit as well as the unicorn slime kit from Baby Mushroom and we had a similar experience, which was fantastic. My 6 year old son loved the outside of the box and was excited to do sciency-slime. Like I mentioned in the other review, we've purchased so many kits from amazon over the years (slime, bouncey balls, bath bombs, etc) and the outside of the box makes it look like you're able to create the coolest things but they never come out that way and my kids are always disappointed. The ingredients have always looked cheap / possibly dangerous, the kits never have enough ingredients to really play with it, something crucial needed to make it is always missing so we have to stop what we're doing to go hunt it down, and/or the instructions are really unclear. This kit is the 100% OPPOSITE of everything just described. Everything you could possibly need to make all of the slime experiments came inside the box down to the tiniest measuring spoons. The instructions were super clear and even had instructions to do science experiments with a few of the packing peanuts that came with it! Very cool!!! The ingredients were very high quality and super impressive - it came with thermochromic powder to make color changing slime, which I've been eyeing to buy for a while but haven't because its kind of pricey. That was the first one we made and it came out perfectly! This is a great birthday gift for the 6-8 year old set - you know you aren't giving a box of junk! Highly recommend!! 5
