    Very beautiful matreshka, done very wellVery beautiful matreshka, done very well, bright colors and details but one thing to mention is the strong smell of the lacquer. Bought that for toddler to play, but even i can't handle the smell, my nose and eyes are all runny and red after dealing with that so no way I am giving it to him anymore. So if you are allergic and sensitive to paint I would not recommend this product, especially for kids. Only for decoration purposes. 3A GREAT BUYI recently returned from a trip that included 2 days in St. Petersburg wishing I had bought more than one set of nesting dolls. What to do but try Amazon. A set of dolls this size and quality would cost $35 to $45 in a souvenir store in Russia. They are well finished and fit together easily. I also bought 3 sets of unfinished nesting dolls to give to my granddaughter and her 2 BFFs to do as a craft project next week. 5Well done; but not a toy for little onesThe dolls are painted nicely and fit together tightly (may be the humidity here). They would be excellent for a responsible child 7 or older but any younger would invite early destruction. Definitely worth the price. Anyone looking for a work of art similar to the familiar lacquer boxes should expect to pay well over a hundred dollars starting prices. 5Would like a replacement part pleaseThe dolls are cute but the 3rd smallest has a small crack on the face. I can't find any way to contact the seller--I'd prefer to replace the damaged piece but I may have to return it. 3CHEAP IMITATIONA cheap imitation. I have lived in Russia. These dolls are NOT Russian. From the tips of their poorly painted heads to the bottoms of each doll, they scream "Made in China!" (Of course, the little 'Made in China' sticker on the bottom of the largest doll puts to rest any other questions about this set's authenticity.) Unlike the set in the photograph, they are not sealed with lacquer, either. Not shiny, unsealed, poorly painted and, sadly, dirty, this set is a total fraud. Don't buy if you want a real set of Russian, Semenov or otherwise, nesting dolls. 1Good QualityI purchased these in December of 2015. My Grandaughter was three then, she continues to play with them . They are colorful and painted well. fit together nicely, are smooth and still look like new. A worthwhile purchase and a beautiful set.UPDATE: Here we are Sept. 2019 These sit on a bookshelf just inside my front door that my Grandaughter has "decorated" with things she treasures and like's..... among those are these nesting dolls; and darn if at sometime when she is here she will, Smile pick them up carry them around and take them apart and stack them a few times put other toys in them and they become part of what ever game or activity she is doing. I have tried to send them home but apparently they live at my house for her pleasure. Money well spent. 5Good quality, made in Russia, easy to openI love that it was made in Russia (says so on the label) and is really good quality. They all opened fairly easily, without much of a struggle, which is not true of all the ones I looked at when I was shopping in St. Petersburg and Estonia. It is somewhat similar to the one I bought in Tallinn. I am really glad I found this on Amazon. The other two I purchased on Amazon are not as nice (the set of 6 from a different seller had a dent on the face of the outer doll, and a more blonde set was beautiful but does not say it is made in Russia though it doesn't say at all so could be). 5Great Massive product well made too...This is massive great looking and very large for the price you have something that will not just look cute, my ex had one and for some strange reason it grew on me. So looking for the same thing I found this and I did not read the size just the price was right and now I have this huge center object that makes anyone look and say what is that... I love it wonderful product make sure you clean off the dust because mine look like they just made it for me.. lol 5Hairy and hard to open!These are cute, but a couple of issues. One, they're REALLY hard to open and close- I bought these for my toddler (I hid the choking hazard sized pieces for now and just gave her the three largest dolls), but there's no way she can open them herself, or put them back together. I can barely do it, especially with the largest doll! There are also long dark hairs sealed into the finish of at least 2 of the pieces. Since these are just for my kiddo to play with it's not that big a deal, but if I were going to give them as a gift to someone else I would have returned them. 34 of the dolls open easily, 2 of them require a big effort and ...They were shipped promptly. I bought these as a gift for my toddler daughter along the Montessori-lines of gift giving. She enjoys them and plays with the tiniest one the most. There is inconsistency with the way that they are made; 4 of the dolls open easily, 2 of them require a big effort and wooden squeaking sounds. They are too hard for her two year old hands to open on her own. My four year old can open the easy ones but not the tightly made ones. The colors are bright and pretty to look at. The largest doll has the most details painted on and as the dolls decrease in size the details decrease, too. The tiniest one has just simple dots for eyes, nose and mouth, as well as 3 buttons. In comparison, the largest has beautiful red, green and other colored flowers, pink cheeks, colored eyes, arms, clothing details, eye lashes, etc. I prefer wooden toys over plastic and these will be something to have our daughter grow into. 4
