Customer Reviews

Big Font with Colored SuitsThese are regular sized playing cards, which is what I wanted. I thought the numbers and suits were plenty big enough, but my 90 yr old father had a little trouble seeing them. Downside is that it's hard to see the suits when you fan the cards in your hand or in a holder. Each suit is a different color so that helps a bit ... unless you're colorblind like Dad! 4FOUR COLOR DECKS! Beware. This is a four color deck (includes blue and green). The image describes a two color (red and black only) deck. I wanted an image that was super sized in a standard deck. The blue and green make it difficult for the person they were purchased for. None of us like the four color decks. The numbers are not the largest available. 1Great Idea but Not Suitable for BridgeMy Mother-in-Law suffers from vision problems which makes playing bridge, her favorite card game difficult. It is hard for her to tell the difference between suites when the cards are on the table. I thought this would be the perfect solution to this problem. However, there are two major issues with these cards when playing bridge; 1) these are poker cards which is not clear in the description and makes holding 13 cards difficult and 2) the small emblems (A, K, J, 10, etc.) are in the wrong corner when fanning the cards making bridge play almost impossible. I am sure these cards would be fine for playing games which require holding only a few cards but I was disappointed that they are not suitable for playing bridge. 1Despite some issues, the cards worked well for our purpose with legally blind fathersWe successfully played a 6-person card game with our 2 legally blind fathers. So they worked fairly well for our purpose, but with a couple of disclaimers and comments:We were playing a card game where suits didn't matter, and all the cards were on the table, not held in your hand. They had trouble distinguishing the Ace from the 4, since there is really not a lot of difference when you can't see well- note my photoThe blue and green colors on the 2 decks are NOT the same! Note in my photo how the blues are 2 different shades. The green from the red deck is more of an aqua, whereas the green from the blue deck is more true green. If you are playing a game with 2 decks where suits matter, that could be somewhat confusing, especially for low vision players with macular degeneration and especially with color blindness like my father..I personally am not impressed with the font used. It is nice and thick, which is good, but a lot of the letters/numbers lack clear definition, especially the J for Jack. The J barely curves, looking almost like a 1. Fortunately there isn't a 1 in playing cards. And again, the Ace and 4 look very similar. When I bought this decks I didn't even realize there would be 4 colors since the photo makes it look like there is just the standard red and black. I would have had to look closely to see the little card diagram in the corner where you can see there is color if you zoom in. This is another reason I am attaching a photo. All in all, they are good, sturdy cards and once you get used to the style of the font our visually impaired fathers could use them, with the exception that they almost always had to ask if a card was a 4 or an ace. I'm not sure if they could have done well playing a standard card game with suits, especially with the red deck that has the aqua shade instead of green. But they will be used, since their favorite game doesn't require discerning the suits. 4AwesomeWe bought these as a gift to a friend whose eyes are poor and we can play cards again with them. It was a wonderful gift and I am so glad these were available! 5Not A Traditional Deck - No Face CardsI am disappointed the deck does not have traditional face cards, nor do the individual cards reflect their value. The entire deck of cards shows only two "spots", including for the jack, queen, king AND ace cards. The corner letter/number of each card is large and bold, and the different colors for each suit are helpful for low vision. Just not what I expected in a deck of cards. 2Easy to read, but not everyone likes the green and blue colors. Good luck trying to get these into play in a poker gameThese were OK but couldn't get my friends to use it during poker games. I bought them so I wouldn't have to lean forward or stand up at the table just to see what the flop was. Though everyone agreed they were easier to read, people kept getting thrown off by the colors. While none of us are anywhere near the age, some complained that these were for old people and scoffed at the idea of using them! Not a good excuse to say the least, but long story short we went back to using a crappy art deck that's hard to read.So these became the deck to be used just for fun.I like them but since no one really cared for them, some cards were destroyed by beer and/or lost from the deck and hence the whole deck had to be retired.Would buy again, but maybe ones that had correct colors 4Transaction was fine and recieved promplyTransaction was fine and recieved promply. However the cards are color coded by suits RED<,GREEN, BLUE, AND GREEN. The Low-vision person ordering them did not see the small print in corner of display. Need to display the 4 colors on the photo. She has no use for the 4 colors.he pack says so in small print on the front of padk. Low Vision erson did not register that in their mind. So nw has 4 packs of cards of no use.Would help if all four colors were dipladed in photo and not just the two. 1NOT suitable for low-vision usersThese cards are NOT red and black like normal cards. Every suit is a different color ie blue clubs, green diamonds and there are 2 colors on each card so blue and black, green and red. Anyone who has low vision can't see these. I ordered 4 packs of these and can't return them and NO where in the description or pictures does it say they are multicolored. Very disappointed 1We have had cards like these in the past and they worked great but ...I ordered these cards for my father who loves to play but is going blind. We have had cards like these in the past and they worked great but for some reason this brand was not what we were hoping for. The colors for the suits was very similar and my father couldn't tell the Spades from the hearts. I don't recommend these for people with macular degeneration. 1
