Good for little hands. 5Great first set with a tip to secure without glue!Bought this for my 18 month old for Christmas. He absolutely LOVES it. He became frustrated with the tracks which kept falling off the red blocks, so I used small pieces of mounting strips I had left over from a picture project to secure the tracks to the red blocks. Works like a charm and offers some permanence without having to resort to glue. 5nothing holding tracks to supportsMy wife picked up the brio starter set for my kids when they went to visit the local train museum. There's only a handful of pieces in the starter set between the two kids, so I figured we expand on that with this set. I looked like it'd be compatible. And for the most part, it is. the tracks work well with that set and so do the train cars.What doesn't work well is the elevated section. There's nothing that really notches in the supports to the tracks. They just rest on top where ever you put them, which pretty much needs to be in the middle of the join. So gravity is all that's really holding them in place and it doesn't do it well while the kids are moving the train around.So if they can use magnets to get the cars to travel together, maybe they can use magnets to strengthen the setup between the tracks and the supports. Otherwise, it's not a bad set. But there room for improvement. 3Brio is the best!I know there are other wooden railway brands, but nothing compares to Brio. I am buying Brio train sets and accessories for my grandson, just like I did for his dad when he was young. Although many of those pieces are over 25 years old, they have stood the test of time. Well worth the investment. 5Solid productThis is a solid train set but the bridge formation (putting pieces on risers) is hard for a 2 year old to build and manage. We love the station and the trains but we wished there were more straight pieces to help create a greater look. A great addition to this set is a train crossing and a bridge. 4What I ExpectedVery happy with this product, but realized recently, after 6 months of minimal use, that a piece is chipped. 5
