Customer Reviews

We're using them to help with hearing loss/speech delayMy son has hearing loss and a speech delay. I purchased these blocks in the hopes that he could use them to 'talk' to us. I have filled the slots with pictures of the family and things that he might want right away and hasn't learned to sign for, like his blanket and bottle. In time, I'm hoping he'll be able to show me his wants, instead of hitting or screaming. I'm making a set for his daycare teachers to use as well. 5Perfect for differentiated learning in my preschool classroomI am using these dice in my 3-4 year old preschool classroom. I put cards with dot patterns (like traditional dice), numerals, finger counting images, shapes, letters, or "beginning sounds" in the pockets to go along with what I'm teaching at the learning center & to involve all levels of learners. I have 4 colored tables in my room so each table gets their own matching dice. The size is perfect for 3-4 year olds hands & the softness of the dice keeps the kiddos safe. LOVE these! Easy to wipe clean, too! 5I love the idea that I can change up those photos ...I bought these blocks for my 10 month old granddaughter and filled them with pictures of our family and of her. They were a hit with her and her mom and dad. I love the idea that I can change up those photos as she grows. The only thing that was disappointing was the plastic case they came in. It was almost impossible to get them out because they fit so tightly and were plastic on plastic so they didn't slide easily. I discarded the case and will have to find something else to store the blocks in. 5I love these. I first saw them at a friend's ...I love these. I first saw them at a friend's house and thought they were a great idea (especially if you live far from your child's grandparents and other relatices or if you have a partner who has to be away from home a lot). I printed out pictures of people I want my child to learn to recognize, sized them to the cubes, slipped them in, and handed the cubes to my child and she/he loves playing with them. The pictures won't come out too easily unless you have a sliver at the top sticking out where your child can grasp it and pull but the pictures weren't hard to put in either. 5Well made, good to learn letters.I picked these up on the recommendation of this reading mama blog site. She has free printables of letters and graphics to match the letters sized to fit in the blocks. It has helped my 3 year old really recognize his letters and items that start with that letter and I love that they seem durable. The 9 month old has gotten her fair share of chewing in on them and they still look as good as new. Definitely a worthwhile purchase! 5Great dice for preschool activitiesThese dice are perfect for my preschoolers. I have four kids between 6 and 3 years old to keep busy this summer, so I searched Pinterest for ideas. One of them was to put action and directional words on two dice made out of spare gift boxes, and to do the combination that came out on top (example: "kick/backwards"). Another was to put action and animal words on two dice made from cardstock paper (example: "sing/like a dinosaur"). Both seemed like great ideas but that they'd get destroyed quickly, so I searched Amazon for blocks I could use instead. I found these, which are even better than the wood or plastic I had in mind! They're just the right size for little kids to hold (a large handful for an adult), and the pockets mean that if they get bored of the words I chose I can easily replace them. The papers don't fall out even when tossed. The soft foam shape means I don't need to worry if they throw a bit too hard no one will get hurt like they might with wood or plastic dice and they will hold up much longer than thin cardboard or paper would. (Bonus: They're washable!)The negative is because these are foam and made fairly cheaply, they're not perfect cubes. For the most part it's fine, but one of my blocks tends to land on the same two sides. It just means I have to switch around the cards I made on that dice occasionally so they don't always get "monkey" and "dinosaur." For this preschooler activity it's fine enough, or as a photo cube for babies it wouldn't matter at all, but I mention it in case that matters to someone considering these. In case someone wants to copy me, here are the words I put in this time. You can use any words you like though. It's a fun game that gets their wiggles out, brings out their silliness (imagine hopping in a circle like an elephant), and can be played alone, in pairs, or in a group.ACTION1. kick2. jump3. spin4. hop5. fly6. runACTION1. stomp2. wiggle3. eat4. sing5. walk6. swimDIRECTIONAL1. backwards2. forwards3. sideways4. fast5. slow6. in a circleANIMAL1. bee2. cat3. frog4. monkey5. dinosaur6. elephant 5Perfect for displaying family photos without worrying about fragile or glass frames & small children. My grandson loves to look at and handle the family photo frames on the coffee table. But fragile frames or frames with glass have to be held for him. I went into a local shop that sells frames looking for durable, unbreakable picture frames but they had nothing suitable. I bought these as an unbreakable alternative and filled each side with family photos. We put-away the frames on the coffee table before he visits and display these. He can stack them, drop them, throw them and the pictures are fine. I printed the photos on my home computer's printer so I can easily replace and update the content. 5Great for Kindergarten classroomsFor graphing and math games, I was constantly making my own dice in my kindergarten classroom. It would either get erased, colored over, or crushed if I used paper, foam or dry erase alternatives. Now I just print out or write a 3x3 I sweat, slide it into the cube, and I m food to go! I actually have two of these sets so I can mix the colors for the many games hoeing in my room that use them. 5Fun activity for my students! There are so many possible ways to use these Photo Pocket Foam Stacking Blocks with elementary school students. For vocabulary building activities I put pictures of different objects or category items into each pocket. Students roll the cubes on the floor or table, name the picture on top, and then answer a question about it. Also good for sight words, letter recognition, following directions- you name it! Use two or more blocks and combine words into sentences, add numbers together, or make a silly story. Students can also toss the cubes to each other and name the picture that touches their right or left hand when they catch it. These blocks are sturdy and well made. The pockets are good and snug so the pictures don't fall out. The plastic carrying case is handy too. We are having a lot of fun with these! 5Sturdy cubesAfter looking at Carson Delosa cubes that are not reinforced on the edge of the plastic where you slide in the picture and the plastic is crinkled/crunched at most of the sewn corners, I settled on this brand. I'm very happy that I did. There have been NO cut fingers on my part, no plastic pulled away from fabric, and some cubes always landing on the same side up. These will last us for a very long time. 5
