    Cant do better for the price!Great costume for the price. I'm 6'2", 175lbs, and the medium fit just fine. At first I thought the pants were gonna be short, but the boot-covers go over them. The costume is confortable and light. I actually just wore jeans and white T-shirt, then threw the pirate pants and shirt over them. There are no pockets with this costume, so jeans/sweatpants underneath can hold your phone and wallet!!! The pants are thin and stretchy, and the shirt is light and stretchy. The material is so thin they are practically see through. The wristcuffs are just a step above cardboard, but they handled themselves through the entire night and could make it a couple more times perhaps before needing to be retired. The boot-covers are a cheap vinyl like material, but do the job in converting dress shoes into boots. The belt is the saddest looking of the bunch. I ended up not wearing it to the halloween party because it was just too cheesy looking. Get yourself an earring and eye-patch kit and you have yourself a cool pirate costume. 4BEWARE - the red dye bleeds!Costume looks great on, a large was a little loose and sleeves were a little long (use the cuffs to fix this issue), belt is terrible, but otherwise ok. Noticed the next day that ends of the white shirt were tinted pink. Started looking around and found white sheets and pillowcase had pink stains (presumably from headband), white terrycloth stool that I sat on in the pants while putting on boottops was now pink, white towel used to shower after wearing had some pink on it. All stains came out after pre-treatment + bleach in wash, but the red dye is definitely not stable and will stay on your skin unnoticed until you touch something white. 3Costume of passable quality with good valueThis is a difficult product to review. Amazon defines 3 stars as "it's okay" and that's how I feel about this product. I think any fewer stars is too harsh considering the price, but any more stars ignores the fact -- at the end of the day -- this is a cheap Halloween costume not much unlike any other you'd find at a Party Store. And I don't know why the bad quality of these products is a thing to be celebrated. It's OK and it gets the job done.Here is an assessment of each item that comes with the kit:Shirt/Vest combo: The bagginness of the sleeves is saved by the cuffs. I'm fortune that I've been working out over the last year, because if I didn't, even the Small would have been a billowy, sprawling landscape of cloth. This is definitely an item made for the classic Big American. If you are skinny, I hope Extra Small is in stock, and even that might be pushing it. That being said, the quality of the shirt was OK. It was a little hot to wear as the fabric didn't breathe well, but it looked decent enough, which is thankful since it is perhaps the centerpiece of the outfit.Leggings: Not bad. The fit was better than the shirt. Same issue of breathability though. It's not a fabric you would want to wear very often, but for one or two Halloween parties it's fine.Cuffs: These help with the puffiness of the shirt, and they actually look pretty good. One of the better parts of the costume.Belt: This thing is is the lowest point of the costume. I recommend finding an alternative somewhere else. It might as well have been made by a Kindergarten student in art class using construction paper.Bandanna: So-so. The front looks good, but the backside of the fabric is blank. It will likely get turned around during wear, exposing the blank backside, which makes it look cheap (which it is, of course, but it could do a better job of not looking cheap).Boot "Toppers": Eh...Paired with the right shoes/actual boots, they look OK. I lucked out because I have some cheap black boots I wore them with, and it gave them a nice accent. It's fine when you're out in the night of Halloween, but under scrutiny they don't hold up well.CLOSING THOUGHTS: The main thing that gets this item 3 stars is its price. The fact that you get a mostly complete pirate costume for less than $25 is nice. But if I were to do it all over again, I would have planned out my costume more ahead of time and built my costume from scratch. It would have looked better. That being said, this was a good item to order in a pinch. I needed a costume quickly, and quickly I received it at a reasonable price. So it earns 3 stars mostly for convenience and value. But nothing in life is free, and the cost of that value is the quality. It suffers to get to that price point. So as long as you know what you're getting into, this can be an OK purchase. 3Good quality for the priceCostume arrived in a bag and nothing was missing.The pants fit well, I normally wear 33-34 waist. The length was ok but not really an issue since the boot covers cover them.The shirt was a little big on me but given the type of costume the shirt is supposed to be baggy. It would easily fit someone much bigger than and I'm about 5'7" 160lbs and I ordered a medium.The wrist cuff things gave me the most problems. They kept coming untied. Get someone to help you tie then double knot them :)I didn't end up wearing the head band but I did try it on and it was comfortable. It is made of what felt like spandex.Overall everything survived the party and it turned out to be a good deal considering the quality and price. I'd order from these guys again for something similar. 5Great Costume!It fits my husband comfortably the waistband on the pants is a little large (size xl shirts and 38/34 pants). The pants are a little short, they only come about half way down his shins, but the boot covers will cover the rest. The fabric is a little thin, buts its a Halloween costume so that's to be expected and as previously mentioned the pants are little large so he can layer up underneath for our cold Illinois winters. The costume is good quality and will hold up well for our Halloween activities. We are very pleased. If you're looking for an affordable Halloween costume that is going to get the job done and look fashionable doing so this is it for you!! 4Perfect for Pirate Night on the Disney Dream!A lot of your opinion on this costume may come down to what you expect to get for $25. I found the exact same costume in some local party/costume shops for $40+, so I was extremely happy with this for $25. Yes, the "belt buckle" is a cheap piece of plastic as are the "boot flaps," but the puffy shirt and pants along with the gauntlets were a great base for my costume and allowed me to accentuate with my own touches. I bought this for Pirate Night on a Disney Cruise, so it really was meant for a one time use, but I still have it just in case. Several reviews made reference to a strong odor and some ink/dye running on their costumes. I will agree that there is a strong smell upon opening the package. I assumed it had something to do with the dyes in the costume, but I gave it a quick shot of Febreze and let it hang out overnight and it was good to go. There did appear to be a little dye smeared on the inside of the packaging, but never saw any on the costume or myself after wearing it. The fabric is super-thin. I chose to wear a t-shirt and shorts under the costume more for comfort than anything. I am 6'1" and 230 lbs with a 38 waist. I ordered the XL and the pants were really loose. I tightened them up a bit, but had to keep pulling them up. The shirt was a little large, but I preferred that. It gave that "puffy" pirate look. I probably could've gone down a size on everything, but I tend to order up a size when I order clothes online. There is an assumption with this costume maker that you will be wearing boots, so they make the pants short! They only came down to my shins. I didn't wear boots and just went with flip-flops. You could probably cut the bottoms of the legs and give it that ragged look if you wanted. But just know that you'll probably need boots to cover your legs. Overall, I was more than happy with the costume. For what I needed, it was more than adequate and a good value. 5the costume seemed great as it had everything you need for a men's ...For the price, the costume seemed great as it had everything you need for a men's pirate costume. However, there are several reasons why I soon became disappointed with the purchase and would not order again. 1) The pants fall down as there is no way to secure them at the waste and the faux belt they come with does nothing. 2) This costume is good for one, maybe possibly 2 nights but the arm guards are cheaply made and broke within the first night of using them, completing coming apart when trying to tie them together (cheap material). 3) and most importantly, the material is so cheap that it apparently gives off a dye. I am not sure what this is from but am embarrassed to say that after sitting down for under an hour, the red material from the pants stained our friends couch and we offered to pay to have it cleaned. So while the costume was cheap, paying for the cleaning of the couch definitely will not be so beware of indirect costs when buying cheap costumes. 2Man Pirate worked out wellHusband wore for family party. Fit as expected, he didn t complain about being cold (in Kansas evening) but he s a dude. Bought size Large. He is 220 and 6,2 wears L tops and 33-34 waist. Length wasn t an issue. His came with wrist cuffs/boot covers and he didn t wear either. Sword not included. I bought him a sword and eye patch separately. Wore one night so we didn t want to break the bank here, was a good purchase for price.We wore coordinating costumes from same brand. 5Five StarsHusband loved it for Renaissance fair!! 5Perfect pirate costume.Fits perfectly & arrived the next day. My husband is 5'4 135lbs & ordered a medium. 5
