... a birthday gift for my 3-year old and he liked it. But it is too simple and not ...I gave the toy as a birthday gift for my 3-year old and he liked it. But it is too simple and not challenging since it involves just few parts that can be attached together, i.e., a grill, an engine and a set of wheels. Other screws are applied without any functional load. He tackled the (dis)assembly during the first a couple of days (there were lots of other toys that he received for his b-day) and now there is nothing left for him to explore further. However, my main concern is the drill. First, it is not very powerful at all, there is not enough torque in it, especially, for unscrewing. Second, the power button is hard to push, even for me. I was lucky to find a great tool set from a different brand that included manual and electric screwdrivers which are compatibles with the screws on this monster truck. My son uses these tools instead, and we discarded the original drill. Now, we learn how to apply different tools (and what tools you can\not apply) to (dis)assemble the truck and (un)screw the screws. The educational venue is possible though with this additional tool box which includes other parts applicable to the truck. Without it, this toy would be a one-day toy that you can play in a store with and leave it on the shelf after all. Third, the wheels keep coming off during play and you cannot even use it as a regular toy car. Forth, the tires do not stay in place which is frustrating for my kids and me since I have to fix them every time they come off. Not happy at all. 1great buy!I bought this as a Christmas gift for my son. He is super into trucks, super into tools, and likes to build things - so tadaa, this was a great gift. He has taken it apart and put it back together probably 38568 times since he opened it. I haven't experienced any of the issues with the drill that others have mentioned. As with all of his toys, I expect them to take a beating and lose the parts over time, so the price on this was great and he has thoroughly enjoyed playing with it. 5Good toy - some design flawsthey toy is great itself - it would be nice if companies provided CHILD friendly instructions on assembly for kids to work on direction following and sequencing. The drill is near impossible for child use - this company hasn't learned over YEARS of production that a kids thumb strength isn't nearly great enough to press/hold the button on the toy drill. it is the main flaw in this product and every version they have ever produced 3Awesome toy!This toy is awesome! We finally opened it up after my almost 4 year old got it for Christmas. He is obsessed! He can put it together and take it apart all by himself. He is so proud. It's great quality and I know he will get a lot of use out of it. I was initially kind of hesitant thinking he would put it together and be done with it but the fact that he loves to take it apart and put it together continually is great! Can't wait to buy him the other versions for his birthday in a month! 5Great concept, howeverGreat concept, however...The pieces don't actually "snap together" as the description states. The wheels come off after minutes of play, making for very frustrated little ones. The adults took turns "securing" the pieces after several attempts by the kids. Even we couldn't get the wheels to stay in place. It was fun for the kids to put together - so one star for that. Too bad they couldn't actually play with what they created. We purchased several of these kits. I really wanted to love this. 1Drill breaks quicklyThe screwdriver broke very quickly. We returned it and got another and it also broke quickly. My son was not being rough. He loved to just sit and build the helicopter, take it apart, and build it again. He still does, but without the drill. The toy is really great and easy to put together without the drill, but the drill is what makes it awesome. I'm disappointed. 3Seems like a defective productWe purchased one of their toys from a local toy store in late October - our 2 year old fell in love with it instantly. Sadly within 2 days the drill was completely unable to move the screws. The motor turned but the end just clicked. Thinking it was a single defective item we tried to contact the company - NO RESPONSE AT ALL - by then we had already ordered this item from amazon as a Christmas gift hoping that it was a single defective drill with the first one. When our son saw this item Christmas morning he stopped opening gifts and wanted to play with this instantly. Unfortunately straight out of the box the drill for this one didn't work, we tried several sets of batteries and nothing. Sadly we have to return it because it doesn't work. We have reached out a second time to the company about the first toy, they gave us the e-mail address and asked us to contact them that way again. We shall see but i'm not confident that we will get a response. 1Great toy.Perfect toy for a mechanical kid. My four year old grandson loves this line of toys. He can easily use the screw driver. Don't forget the batteries! 5Perfect for a 3 year old!My 3 year old nephew is a huge fan of monster trucks. Christmas morning, when he unwrapped this one, he smiled from ear to ear. Impatiently asked for help to prep everything and started to build right away, ignoring all his other presents... Success! The only part we found challenging were the stickers... he really wanted to put them on backwards, but we were able to convince him the adults had to do that part. Phew! Crisis averted. Drill lasted one day and no it wasn't the batteriesVERY COMMON PROBLEM WITH THIS TOY, PER OTHER REVIEWS OF THIS COMPANIES DRILL BASED TOYS**We got this toy for our son as a Christmas gift. My son loves it and played with it all day. By the end of the day the drill stopped working like it was dead. I changed the batteries and it still wasn't working right. It spins. It seems like the motor isn't catching with the bit. Now he gets frustrated because it's not working.It's fun but it's cheap and disappointing. So keep the box if you buy it and be ready to exchange it. 2
