Customer Reviews

Low Cost for a ReasonYou have to remove four screws from the back panel to put in a battery. The sine wave output has quite a bit of distortion. They do not calibrate it and if you wanted, I would guess you could trim the IC they use to upgrade its' performance. The amplitude of the output fades as you increase the frequency. But for the money, it avoids the effort you would have to put into building your own. 3Nice and easyWhat you see is what you get. Very simple and easy to use. The only deficiencies I find is the handle that is somewhat difficult to manipulate and the lack of info on external power supply. For more precise applications frequency counter is a must.Otherwise, I am very satisfied with this product and I would recommend it to any electronic hobbyist or professional. 5Great little signal generator for the moneyIf you are looking for a inexpensive signal generator with out all the fancy gismos, this is it.I gave it three stars, but it does work, but there is no read out and you should use it with a scope or frequency counter. It is battery operated which is kind of nice, however if you are going to do any real electronic work, I would get a real signal generator. It is ok for what it does. 3Inexpensive generator.Produces an OK waveform. I don't have equipment to measure distortion, but the sq and sine waves look good on my PC used as a scope (Sillanumsoft visual analyzer). Larger than needed to contain the electronics, but not heavy enough to stay put. 4It works! This little unit works fine. If you you buy one, be aware that in order to get access to the inside of the unit to install the battery, you have to remove the rubber feet on the back and then remove the four screws that are holding the box together. This wasn't mentioned in the owner's manual. Other than that minor problem, it is a great little signal generator for the price. 4good basic tone generatorI am a retired electronics technician and bought this to work on a couple of amplifiers for my son. It provides the tones and ranges I needed, but the sine waves are not very clean, plus the 5 volt offset can be a nuisance using a scope. 4Great function generator for the novice hobbyistJust started playing with this tonight. Read the reviews, took off the adhesives in the back and installed the 9V battery. As someone else said, it does have a strong DC bias - so it does not produce an AC waveform as advertised. However this was easily remedied by building a high pass filter on a breadboard. Now I have 3VAC @ 100kHz. I'm sure I will outgrow this quickly, but I think this is a great buy for the novice /hobbyist/tinkerer 4Not Too Good.Worked OK but failed after a little use. 3Simple, cheap, effective !A great little signal generator, especially for audio test use, as I require. Some may say why not use a PC tool, but actually it is much simpler to use a small black box than battle with MS Windows layered screens, and then stuff up with an accidental mouse click !Highly recommended, within modest specifications. 4the signal output is good, and design is based on popular XR2206Though, the signal output is good, and design is based on popular XR2206, the switch on the generator got stuck at "ON" position, after 1 week of use. So the battery dies out too soon. I have to know screw the box open and remove the battery every time, after usage. The quality of signal is same as what is mentioned on device data sheet. 2
