Customer Reviews

Perfect game for all (adults that is)!!This is a really fun game! My group is not usually into rpg type games where you do damage and have to think about your moves in advance. We always play stupid, funny party games like CAH, utter nonsense, funemployed, and disturbed friends. The quality of our experience is usually dictated by how hard we laugh. And this game was a perfect mix!ESWOTBW:DAMS has the illustrations that kept us intrigued from the start. Every card is funny. And the spell combinations are also goofy to read in your best wizard voice. Even though we dropped the wizard voices about halfway through it was fun to try different voices and read the spells. And for a group that doesn't play games that take even a hint of preparation for your move esw was perfectly simple enough to sit down and understand in a round. A great game for adults of any game level! Whether you are hardcore and want a light fun turn based card game or are a party gamer and want something a bit more involved it has it all. Next up is to buy the sequel and expand my deck! 5Fun fast game for a groupFun fast game for a group. One of the very few games that actually seems to move faster with more people playing.Pretty quick to pick up, very quick if someone who's played once can explain it. On a "strategy scale" of 0 = massively random (e.g. Flux) to 5 = purely strategic (e.g. Chess), I'd put this at about a 2. 5I highley recommend this game for your colectionI have started my own little board game collection and started having both family, and friend game nights on a weekly basis. Epic Spell Wars of the Battle Wizards was the newest addition to my collection. While the game can be a little complicated to learn, it's fantastic to play. The art is goofy and makes the game humors as do the spells themselves. Every game night I also have at least one person ask to play this because its so fun. The game is well thought out and can be played with up to 8 people which is great for party environments. Some of the art on the cards can be a little to violent for kids so I wouldn't recommend this be played with kids unless you take those cards out. The game can also take long depending on your number of players, to win a player must be the last wizard standing twice, but this can be rectified by implementing your own sudden death rules when everyone is getting tired of playing. 5Great Game yet Box Was ruined upon ArrivalPro: My Art History Professor brought me this game and I absolutely love the style of the cards and the presentation of the box itself with its fantasy pop style art. The card game itself was well crafted and easy to understand these card mechanics in this great game.Con: The box I was eagerly waiting for was ruined on the left and right side from water damage and misused treatment where tears were already formed. It sadden me something I was so excited for was ruined due to the box becoming destroyed and hard to look at. This brought my family and I a large trust issue as we were about to buy the other four card packs after this one. Conclusion: If the company could make sure to send boxes without any water damage or mistreat it will further increase sales of their game. 2Great game, but definitely not for kids!Great game and amazing visuals, however not kid friendly.Really wish it was because the ruleset and actions are simple enough for younger kids (10ish) to understand and play, with enough variety and strategy that adults would have fun as well. The artwork however is enough over the top that most kids that age shouldn't play it, and many would be disgusted or have nightmares from some of the drawings. If anyone ever came out with a similar style game that was kid friendly I'd buy it in a heartbeat and it would be played far more often than this game. 4I don't know how I ever lived without this.My favorite game to date. We saw this on an episode of Table Top and knew instantly we needed this game. My husband and I have a blast playing it. Well I enjoy blasting him to bits anyway. He hasn't beaten me yet. We also got our 13 year old nephew in on this and it's his favorite game too. The rules are not at all complex. You just build spells with 1-3 cards and last man standing wins the game. Be warned though that the more people that play, the longer the game will be. (Obviously.) But there is a bit of time spent setting up spells, picking your targets and strategy. If I play with my nephew and husband and we play first to three wins takes the crown, the game can take upwards of an hour or more sometimes. The humor in the cards is pretty hilarious as well. If you like games like Exploding Kittens, Joking Hazard or Munchkin, you will enjoy this game too. Art is very much like the show Rick and Morty. Be warned there is a lot of adult humor in this game... not something for young children or those that do not like more risky adult themed content. 5Easy quick learning gameOk, first of all we are a family who truly do enjoy board games. We like to call it "Forced Family Fun Night."My husband loves to watch Will Wheaton "Table Top Games," which I believe this was one of them. I am not one for tons of directions and this was a perfect fit to get the game going quickly. It's a strategic humorous game that will have everyone laughing just at the card names alone. Definitely worth buying! 5Recommended, for the right group.A very silly, lighthearted game. Can be a lot of fun. It misses a star because of two reasons. The deck has a lot of repeats, so gameplay gets a little repetitive. I've heard this is fixed by combining the two versions, but haven't tried it yet. Also, it is not particularly good at 2 players, although it is technically playable. You need more players to get the full experience. Three and four are both quite fun. 4Fun but randomThis game can be fun but there is little to no strategy you draw seven cards and build a spell with a source, quality, and delivery, or combination of two or just one card. Each card has its ability to follow and it just goes random. The big thing with this game is never count yourself out. It is very random and one right draw can turn you from last place to the last wizard standing. 4Naughty and Fun. Ages 12+I've played the game with 3 and 4 people, and that made a big difference. 3 players was a little more casual, good pace, and lot's of fun. 4 players was also fun, but the turns take much longer and it's likely to have two people simply waiting for several turns until someone wins. Still fun, but it's not a "quick" game at that point.I LOVE the art, but I'm a big fan of Adult Swim and animation in general so it's not exactly a hard sell. If you're a fan of adult humor and general nonsense, you'll have a good time playing the game.Lastly, I highly suggest using character voices when casting spells. It's a good time. 5
