A fun and unique toy, definitely recommend!The image for this toy is terrible. The description is unclear. Solely based on the reviews, I decided to take a chance and bought this as a Christmas present for my daughter. Guess what ended up being her favorite Christmas present?The best way to describe this is a slinky for the arm. It's a bunch of circular strands connected together to form a sphere like structure. When you flatten the strands, you can put your arm (or leg if you are small/young enough) through the resulting loop. The strands will then pop up, gently gripping whatever is in the center, and will then spin around as gravity takes hold. It sounds boring, but the moment you play with it, you'll be hooked. My kids and their friends are going nuts over this thing. They pass it from arm to arm to the occasional leg and end with throwing it into the air so it pops open. I'm very happy with this purchase. 5Science fun, and you can play with it in a ...Science fun, and you can play with it in a circle with friends passing it from hand to hand by keeping the momentum by angling the arms and body.Bought it for my mom for her physical therapy since she tore an inner ligament to her humerus and also biceps, and she had surgery. It is a fun tool to use to help her play a game while also exercising her other muscles. 5Kids love itMy daughter and her kids love this. I wonder how long they'll be able to find new things to do with it, but for now, they just have fun rolling it up and down their arms and linking hands to roll it to each other, as well as dropping it on balls and watching it "eat" the ball, etc. 4You'll quickly get the hang of this, while others may look-on in disbelief. Mesmerizing is an apt description!I think they include the word "mesmerizing" in the product's name for a reason. If you are like me, when you first get your hands on this you'll be a little unsure of what exactly you have purchased. We've had this for under two days and my son has taken it everywhere and shown it to as many people as he could.It's a novelty toy, to be sure, but it is FUN! I highly recommend this for Santa's surprise items. It's a crowd pleaser.And now for some science - It's a great example of a toroid (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toroid). It's made from a coil and it kind of contracts and expands as it gains or looses speed. I'm not smart enough to say more, but some other people are, and you might know them. So get this. 5Perfect Tween ToyMy 14 year old boy didn't ask for this but I bought it thinking he would like it. He loves it. Each of his friends that come over loves it. It gets played with A LOT, a better gift than I anticipated!Not too many toys you can buy for a tween, and this is one of the best. 5Fun For Everyone!I bought this as a Christmas present for my 12-year-old cousin, because I had no idea what to get him and this looked cool. When I saw the package I worried that it would be underwhelming. But after we were finished opening presents, my cousin opened the package and started playing with the GeoFlux. Me, my mom, my aunt, my other cousin, my brother, and even my 3-year-old nephew spent about an hour playing with it. We were all taking turns with it, passing it from one person's arm to the next, and thinking of different things to try it on. (For instance you can stretch out an extension cord and put the GeoFlux around it, and it will "magically" spin its way from one end to the other. It really was mesmerizing! I would definitely recommend this as a unique and fun gift for kids and even adults. 5Tangle alert!I started playing with the GeoFlux as soon as I received it. It was amazing! However, when I started to put it down it seemed to get tangled and "frozen". My first reaction was that I had ruined the thing and I was not a happy camper. On further thought, I held it gently in my hand without attempting to untangle it and READ THE INSTRUCTIONS and was able to fold it up with no problem.I would advise attaching the instructions to the rings so you can't open them without seeing a warning to read instructions on closing it before you open it. 5Good when you are stumped for a gift, especially at that Tween age.I gave two as birthday gifts to my nephews. They thought it was cool and to my surprise everyone who saw them wanted to play with or watch it move. If you have never seen one of these before it is a hit.This is a good gift for that tween age if you are stumped for one. It is metal which is good, it pops up which is cool, it can be interactive which is fun.The fact that it is metal makes it span wider age ranges. So if the chilid is 10 or 50 years, they will appreciate it.Really I would give this 4.6 stars. There is a limit to what you can do with it. The person fun factor does wear out in a day. You need to show it to new people to keep that excitement up or find new things to try it on.Note- To respond to one reviewer that said they got scratched up. I felt the weld on the two I have and while not quite rough you can feel the stacked joint edges. HOWEVER IN USE there was not a scratch on skin or snag on cloths.Yes it does work better on arms but if you have it spinning fast enough it will over over long sleeves. I think it would have been good to give some educational science on this. I think people are forgetting to wonder WHY it can do what it was.The only thing that bugs me is that I discovred it is a copy of a Toroflux. It is a shame that for $5 difference most will go for the lower cost. I dont knwo if they are different but I think those are hand made in USA and have a warranty. GeoFlux does not. Even if you abused your Toroflux they give a half price replacement. I plan on ordering one to see if it moves any better and will update if I do.For now i say it is a nice gift . The bag also means no wrapping is really needed. Bag , toy , give and be the cool gift giver. 4
