    Well loved! Buy this shape puzzle!Really it s the only shape puzzle I recommend. Others don t last. (And trust me, with my son s letter obsession, we ve owned them all.) This one lasts. We ve had it for years!!! Sturdy and well made. We also own the lower case Hape puzzle and the 1-20 puzzle. 5Puzzle designed for small handsThis product was purchased for a 2 year old.Pros - Large puzzle pieces that are easy to hold and maneuver. Good quality wood, durable. Varying colors so the letters are easier to distinguish. Rounded letters like O and G have been slightly flattened on the bottom so they can stand up if you desire.Cons - The I and H are slightly hard to distinguish to a child just learning their letters. This is the same for the W and the M. I think if these pieces were slightly larger, they would be able to be designed in a way to allow more distinguishing features.My 2 year old had no issue putting this puzzle together on her own during the first try aside from the letter I/H, W/M and N/Z. 4Great puzzle, even better companyI never post reviews of products (though I buy a ton on Amazon). But within 48 hours of my two-year-old son receiving this puzzle, he managed to throw away the A. We thought he'd hidden it, but it became clear it went out in the garbage. What's an alphabet puzzle without an A? And it was brand new! I emailed the company that makes it, Hape, and told them what had happened. They send me a replacement A immediately and at no charge. Thank you! 5Nice enough but made in ChinaThis a decently made puzzle, however, I was disappointed that it is now made in China, as others said it had been made in Switzerland. I would gladly pay more for a puzzle like this made in Europe rather than China. Safety standards are more stringent there. 4like itWas looking for a puzzle that had the shapes on the puzzle board, to match them up more easily. M&D wooden alphabet puzzles have the letters painted on but the piece isn't actually letter shaped. These pieces fit my needs and we can spell things on the table/floor/etc/use them for other games/learning... but the wood cutouts on the board still aren't letter shaped. An improvement from what we had though & very well made. 4Excellent quality and finish for the priceThe granddaughter LOVES this beyond what I expected. Five days after Christmas and she's still playing with it for hours a day. Say each letter when putting it in the right spot, dump them out when it's completed and start over. And over. And over. Then she puts them in each spot while Mom says the letter, and at the end we all clap for Mom knowing her alphabet. Go Mom! If the little one never touches it again it will have worth what I paid for it.The letters are smooth painted wood, better quality than what the price would indicate, compared to other more expensive wood toys I've purchased. No rough or splintery edges in the puzzle either. Very impressed. 5High quality toy!I got this for my 2 year old who already knows most the letters (thanks to Super Why), but I wanted something that will help him also memorize them in the alphabetical order. This puzzle is perfect for that purpose. This puzzle is high quality with beautiful colors. My son really loves playing with it.As mentioned in the other review, yes the letters are not symmetrical, but I don't see how this could be viewed as a negative. It teaches the kids to put the letter the right way. Just like they would do with all the other letters. My son very quickly figured out that if it doesn't fit one way, you have to turn the letter around to make it fit. Everybody has the right for their own opinion, but I personally don't see how this could be a reason for giving a product 1 star. 5Not solid wood but still lots of fun (and delicious for doggies)This is a nice little puzzle. The letters are not solid wood, more like a very dense cardboard. I only know this because our beloved terrier found the R and the Z to be quite delicious. I saw the innards. My son loves the puzzle, though. He just may not learn his alphabet fully due to the dietary habits of his furry friend. 4Best alphabet puzzleThis is our second purchase of this alphabet puzzle. My daughter loves her puzzle so much that we have to get one for her Montessori daycare. She is a little more advanced than her toddler peers, so this puzzle is not for them yet, but it is a good exposure for the classroom.My daughter has completed the puzzle and also used the letters for spelling and stacking. The design of thesee letters are good and stable for stacking. My daughter also used the letters to match with her alphabet placemats.This is a high quality puzzle and you will not be disappointed. As for a Montessori setting, it is wooden, the size is good (not a choking hazard), and it is colorful.Highly recommended for toddlers who are obsessed with letters. 5Pieces are choking hazards. For ages 3 and up.Great puzzle. Just be aware that the pieces are too small for young toddlers. My daughter can easily fit the pieces into her mouth. The packaging clearly says 3-years and up (I didn't read the description before purchasing). I purchased this for my 19-month-old daughter and unfortunately will have to put this away for another year or so.The puzzle is great quality. Just like all Hape products.I highly recommend this puzzle for anyone 3 and up. 4
