Educational and also really fun!Gave the First Robot Engineer Kit and the First Automobile Engineer kit to our 4 1/2 year old twin grandsons. They absolutely love them. One worked with Mom and one with Grandpa and were able to immediately put a "robot" and a "car" together with a little help explaining how to follow the assembly directions. The illustrated directions are very well done and will be very educational as the boys learn to follow the directions. They're quickly working through all the combinations shown in the booklet and will soon be making their own creations. Mom actually sat down - without a kid - and played with it creating her own robot. ;-) The pieces are very well made. And of a good size. The storage box is a great addition. The "eyes" seem to be the boys' favorite parts of the kits. 5Fun and wide age range!Our son was wanting a robot for Christmas. I read lots of reviews after coming upon this one. He s going to be 7 soon, but many said this was not just for little kids. He LOVED it!! He s already built three or four of the robots! I really didn t pay attention to size either, but was pleasantly surprised when I saw how big it was! He s going to get so much enjoyment out of this set! 5Creative kit but images are misleading to childrenMy 4 year old son is much into building things with gears, popoids and magnet blocks so we got him this as well. The problem we ran into was that he was looking at all the cartoon images of the robots and machines in the book and wanted to make them with their bendy arms. He was very frustrated because the robots didn't look like the cartoon images. Maybe it would be good for this kit to have some popoid corrugated style tubes as well to make bendable arms and cranes as well. Also, pushing in some of the pieces takes a bit of effort that could be difficult for some children. 4Great learning toy!I bought this for my four-year-old daughter and robotics engineer husband for Christmas. It was something for them to bond over, and they love it. It s got lots of different designs and is teaching my daughter about engineering and simple rod-and-axel machinery. She likes to design her own robots rather than use the examples in the story. The whole set functions like Legos, with endless options. It all comes in a perfect little case that keeps her from losing the pieces. Yes, it s expensive but worth it if you re looking for a great learning toy. I would definitely buy it again. 5For $50 should have four wheels and a few more partsMy 3 1/2 yo really likes the set. He got the robot set and it is a good starter set. Two issues - the robot set should really have 4 rubber wheels for this price. Also, we run out of pieces a little too fast when building. For the price, the set should have a few more pieces. He was a little disappointed when the cartoon version of the creations in the instructions were not accurate representations of what you can build. He asked several times to build the cartoon version and I had to explain that we could not build it or it WAS the thing we just built. One wish list piece - it would be nice to have collar pieces to go on the axles to hold them in place. He also set the robot on the floor and wanted my phone to control it - sad face when I explained that it was not motorized. Kids these days. 3This set has even provided hours of fun for his two year old brotherMy 6 year old son got this for his birthday and started building right away. He made a few robots from the book but he also made his own robots. He even made a motorcycle and a few other things. This set has even provided hours of fun for his two year old brother. His 8 year old brother hasn t been very interested but trucks are more his thing.Great set. I plan on buying a different one for him for Christmas. 5Educational and oh so much fun!Excellent kit that has provided many hours of enjoyment for a 5 year old. We are delighted about his willingness to build on his own from drawings as well as creating his own very imaginative "contraptions". It is fun to watch his sense of accomplishment with each build. 5NOT for ages 3+; more like 7+Toy is cool and has a lot of parts to build many different things, however, the age range for this toy is wayyyyy off. My niece is almost 5 and it was too much for her to do on her own. 3Great PurchaseMy 3 year old really enjoyed this gift. She had built a few robots and always enjoys putting them together. The product is well made, highly durable and comes in a great storage bin. 5Awesome gift, highly recommended!Bought this for my 3yo and absolutely loves it! He is still too small to actually build the robots by himself but he definitely love to help. We follow the instructions and finds the pieces we need. He also loves the book and learning about all the robots and what they do. I would definitely buy again. 5
