Customer Reviews

Simple images, long lasting foam magnets. We bought these to entertain our baby. The foam is nice and soft, they are slightly bendy which is great for kids because they won't break. They can withstand some chewing, too. They've held up for over 3 years and now entertain our toddler (who was the baby we bought them for) and our new baby as well. They're great for helping teach words since the images are all very clear and simple. We used a lot of them to help teach our kids sign language. It's so fun to see them point to the fish and then sign fish, or point to ball and sign ball! Our kids love playing with these magnets on the fridge. 5Love these MagnetsWe have 2.5 y.o. twins and constantly looking for creative ways to educate them. So, our kids are now into:- Puzzles- Stickers- MagnetsEach type of activity has plus and minus, but all allow kids to learn very well Animals, Shapes, Colors, etc. Very effective. We started with Puzzles, as kids loved them for a while (paper / wood / foam puzzles). Moved to Stickers (nice, but kids tend to tear them - so "reusable" stickers are questionable.. stickers end fast). Newest idea is Magnets. I had Magnetic Alphabet, which kids loved, so figured let's try other Magnetic things.Magnets are great for many reasons: sturdy, reusable, easy to handle for kids. You just need magnetic stand/board.So we got 4 types of Magnet games: 1) Lewo Farm - Lewo Farm Magnetic Board Games Double-face Drawing Board Wooden Education Toys for Kids Dry Erase Board Jigsaw Puzzle Games 2) Melissa & Doug Wooden Magnets Bundle - Shapes and Farm - Melissa & Doug Wooden Magnets Bundle - Shapes and Farm 3) Melissa & Doug 20 Animal Magnets in a Box - Melissa & Doug 20 Animal Magnets in a Box 4) Foam Magnets - Objects - Foam Magnets - ObjectsI have to admit, that my personal favorite and kids favorite - #4 Foam Magnets - Objects - Foam Magnets - Objects. Nothing not to love about them (quantity, quality, price). Convenient storage plastic jar!Melissa & Doug would be my next choice - sturdy wooden magnets, but pictures look more complex and I don't like that the box doesn't have cover (how stupid). Now, back to Foam Magnets - Objects - Foam Magnets - Objects.PROs.I like Price, Quality, Quantity. This is an awesome set.CONs- PIECES. I would recommend removing few pieces from this set - non-basic, unnecessary, confusing. So as an adult, go through all the objects and set aside what you don't think is important/needed.WISH. I wish there was even more! I would buy additional sets - maybe shapes, colors, and theme-related magnets!Overall, kids are very excited about magnets, so much that we are getting 2 boards and hanging them on walls for them (for magnets and to draw). I think it's an awesome way for kids to learn and have fun. Who needs blank walls! We are getting these boards - Master of Boards Drywipe Magnetic Whiteboard - 36" x 24" | Includes Aluminum Frame and Pen Tray 5Good magnets for toddlersBig bottle of interesting magnets with different, colorful images to attract little kids. My 18 month old loves to play with these and loves to name the different images. I keep about 2/3 of them in the jar hidden in a cupboard and periodically cycle them out so that she doesn't get bored.Technically, the alphabet is represented in this jar, with one magnet per letter, but we haven't gotten to that point yet.It says not to let babies chew on them, but really, can you stop babies from chewing on things? My daughter has bitten down pretty hard on them and they haven't fallen apart yet. The foam seems pretty sturdy. The images are bright and haven't faded even with repeated chewing and handling. The entire back of each foam piece is a magnet, so no tiny magnets to fall out and get swallowed, which was one of my magnet-buying criteria. 5Pictures peeling off already....At first I thought that these magnets would be a wonderful addition to your house. My kiddo absolutely loves them!!!! However, after only using them for about 2 weeks the pictures are starting to peel off of the foam base on most of the magnets we are currently using. All my kiddo does with them is take them off the fridge, carry them around, hide them and throw them occasionally. I have never even seen them in his mouth. Nothing he does should be making the picture peel off. If they were better quality I would give them a 5 because they have great pictures and I love that the magnet covers the whole back. It will be just hard to see those great pictures when the picture has peeled off completely from the foam magnet :( 2Very sturdy and fit perfectly in little handsI love these magnets. They are fully magnetized - not a little spot of magnet on the back, but a full-size magnetic back that means it sticks hard to whatever surface you put it on. The colors are bright and engaging, and the designs are fun. They're great for a little one who is just learning how to name objects, but they're also good as the child gets older and wants to create little storylines about the objects. It's also a great "which one of these doesn't fit" kind of game, where you can combine several of the magnets and ask the child which ones doesn't belong. We're constantly finding new uses for these, and I'm sure they will be well-loved. So far they are quite durable, with very little wear and tear even though our son has been playing with them almost daily for the past few months. I'd buy them again! 5My son got ahold of the train and gnawed on it for a good 5 minutes before we noticedI purchased these magnets to go along with a magnet board I made for my son's 2nd birthday gift. They're made of relatively thick foam with the entire back side covered with a magnet. My son got ahold of the train and gnawed on it for a good 5 minutes before we noticed. The picture I attached shows a brand new pig and the train post-chew session. Even after his pit bull like gnawing, the train still looks pretty good, although you can see the indentations from his teeth. I like the variety of objects included as it'll help in expanding his everyday vocabulary. 4So many uses and so much fun for the little oneI combined this with my alphabet magnets and it is great! I love the different animals you get. Not only does it promote first words, first letter for a-z, but also I use it for animal sounds. My 13 month old and I love it!!! I would totally recommend it to other parents! 5Great toy, so many uses! These magnets are fantastic! My daughter is 2 and we have found so many uses for them already. They are great for language development-- we use them to practice object recognition, animal sounds, and sing songs associated with the different pictures. I also created a magnetic "fishing pole" (stick, string, magnet) for a fishing game. Alternatively I hang magnets above her head and have her reach for them as part of her physical therapy. They can be used for matching when accompanied with other pictures, animal figures, or actual objects. They have also been great for independent play! The magnets are durable and lightweight. They seem like they will be able to last for a long time, unlike other cardboard and wooden magnets I looked at. I can see us using these for alphabet/initial sounds or categorizing when my daughter is older. My only complaint is that there isn't another set! I would love more pictures! 5Great for different learning levelsWe have a chaotic household with a 2.5 year old and a 13 month old, both boys. These magnets are wonderful because:- Both kids love this set, and because there are so many objects, they both play with them without fighting (they almost never share the same toy without someone crying).- The set is a very fun way to learn letters for the preschooler (a letter comes to life when part of a known word with a known sound).- The set is a great way for the toddler to start learning words for basic objects.- Unlike some other letter-learning tools for kids, you won't find any ambiguous pictures here (is that a towel or a blanket? Is that a plate or a frisbee?). All the pictures clearly represent a distinct object with a distinct name.- The storage jar is a big plus for quick clean-up if you don't want to keep the magnets on the fridge all the time.- The pieces seem very durable (although we haven't owned them long enough to fully test this).Overall, this was a very great buy for $14, we couldn't ask for more from this set! 5Fun Magnets for Toddlers!Love these magnets! My two year old is having a great time with these cute objects and her new magnetic board. I like that they are soft and that they have the magnet on the entire back of each object. (Not just a small magnet in the middle) Perfect for our little one... She loves them. 5
