Cheap and doesn t work properly. Not good for waterWhile this product is cheap, I know I can t expext too much but this product is very poorly made. The styrofoam on the fishing pole handle tore off within the first 10 minutes. It shouldn t be listed as a bath toy because the fish take on water and the lights break. Also the magnets aren t strong enough to actually pick up the fish as if you were fishing you have to manually put the fish on the magnet. 1Some bugs, but a decent toy.First of all, my 3 year old LOVES this bath toy! Makes convincing him to take a bath so much easier! He loves the light, he loves the colors, he loves that he can actually catch and reel in the fish. He is a VERY satisfied little boy!That being said, I am less satisfied. The pole is telescoping. I am not sure why, but it is. So if you reel in too far, the pole starts to collapse in on itself. Just annoying, but not critical to the function. After the first bath with the toy, the little silver eye that keep the line in place on the very end came off. It was dangling down by the bobber. Hubby super glued it back in place and a week later had to super glue the middle one as well.Two months of pretty regular use and the fish lights are beginning to go out. I've long since thrown the packaging out, so I am not sure if the batteries can be replaced or not. I'll have to dissect a fish I suppose. My son seems to be ok with lightless fish though, so I'm in no hurry.All in all, it is a $10 toy. It still works even if the bells and whistles aren't all there. To a kid the nit-pick doesn't matter the way it does to an adult. A couple super glue fixes are worth all the happy baths we've gotten with this toy. 4Not a happy customerBeware of this sellers items! The product is awesome....my granddaughter loves it.....but after only playing with it 3 or 4 times all the lights inside the fish stopped working. It still works as a fishing toy ....the magnets still work......but she really loved that they lit up. 2the glue holding the pole eyes in place was not good either had to glue them on after opening the ...This toy for the quality is not worth its shipping cost nor is it worth ten dollars, the contact plates between the fish and pole where the magnets are were poorly designed the magnets are not strong enough to pick up the fish unless you put them on by hand and one of the magnets was installed backwards so it pushed the fish away instead of pick it up ,the glue holding the pole eyes in place was not good either had to glue them on after opening the package, I expected more for a 10 dollar toy ,sorry if my review is not what you wanted to here ,I can tell you I've found better toys like this at the dollar store. 1Cheaply MadeI bought this for my 2 year old for Christmas and he loved it. I gave it a lower star rating due to it being very cheaply made. Some of the lights did not work at first and within probably a month most of the fish were broken in half. Would buy another set if looking for a little longer lasting toy. 3Chocking Hazard! Save Your Money!We had two of these (two kids) and both broke very easily. The real worry was the end of the rod with the magnetic hook kept popping open--it doesn't secure in any childproof way and three tiny button batteries plus a small spring kept spilling out. It is about what expected for the >$10 I paid for it. The box claims it requires "3 LR4G" batteries and that they are not included. It also mentions installing AA batteries so I opened it up to take a look. Despite what the packaging said, it did come with the 3 button cell batteries required (I think they meant LR44 batteries). The little fish and turtle are made of hollow, thin plastic that I suspects would crack easily if dropped. The batteries are not required to fish but just to make the lights inside the fish work. When the magnet on the mouth of the fish comes in contact with the magnet on the fishing pole hook the fish flash and light up. The listing mentions it is a bath toy but this is not mentioned anywhere on the semi-poorly translated box. The seams on the fish don't look like they will keep the water from getting inside for long but based on the price I think it is worth the gamble.This is a Christmas present for my 4 year old so I haven't tried it out yet but I will update after he gives it a spin.Also want to warn parents that this toy has exposed/unencased magnets that may get dislodged from the toy. If you have babies/small kids who still put everything in their mouth please be careful. Magnets are very dangerous if swallowed. 4My kids love it! The magnets work greatThis set is quite cute. My kids love it! The magnets work great.However, after about 2 baths, the light-up function stopped working. My kids loved the lights and they are very upset that the fish don't light up any more. (They are 1 and 2 years old so they are still young enough to get upset about things like that...) We tried drying everything out to see if that would fix it. I e-mailed the sellers and have gotten no response as to a solution or refund. 2Worst product available on Amazon???Oh, what a piece of trash this toy is!Where to begin...The instructions on the back of the box are written in the worst English you've ever read. And they are completely wrong.Turn the switch off before changing the AA batteries??? There is no on off switch or AA batteries in this thing! It comes with the button batteries already installed, and you guessed it, they're dead.But never fear, I have a box of the same size so I replaced them. That's when I found the internal holder for the battery pack didn't make proper connections. I had to take it out to the shop to reengineer this thing. Twenty minutes with the soldering iron and some scrap 14 gauge copper wire and I had the thing working.Gave it to the kid and found the stupid eyelets where not connected. Don't think they even bothered with glue. Back out to the shop and hit it with the gorilla glue.So we finally made it to bath time and wouldn't ya know the fish take on water. By by light circuitry. Oh, and that magnetic battery pack I had to rework earlier....yep, it took on water too.This retailer should be removed from Amazon. 1
