Darts come out really fast! Great for Nerf Wars!This review was written by my son:I picked this nerf gun out because I heard the darts came out really fast, and it lived up to its expectations. It comes with a 12 dart clip, which is perfect for me because it doesn't make the gun super bulky. This model was at a great price compared to others I saw for over 40 dollars. It doesn't jam very much, in fact it only jammed for me once. The only reason I docked a star was because when my gun did jam, it got stuck where the band of the crossbow goes, and I spent a good 10 minutes poking at it with a paper clip trying to get it out. As long as you make sure to push the grey piece forward when you load the gun, it shouldn't jam. Overall the gun is very good, and darts come out of the barrel really fast. This gun is great for a Nerf war(what I bought it for) or target practice. Definitely worth it for the great price. 4Gun does not jamWell crafted gun. No problems with bullets jamming which sometimes happens with Nerf. Anytime we have Nerf wars this gun comes out to play. LOL. It is fun to be able to treat it like it s a real crossbow. They ve done a good job with that. 5Lots of fun even if you're technically not a kidOne of the fastest nerf shooters you can buy - and definitely the most unique.My roommates and I were apparently deprived of the proper amount of nerf guns as kids, so we bought a bunch of different guns from amazon and around 600 darts for our apartment.This gun is the only one that I have found that is actually powered by the shock cord stretching across the "blaster". We think that the darts come out of this gun slightly faster than any of the other ones we have (and we have quite a few). The fact that the darts actually travel down a short barrel before leaving the gun also helps it shoot more accurately than the others. Only twice has someone been shot in the eye and both times it was this guy right here.I see that a few of the other reviewers state that this gun has problems eating darts and getting jammed. We had this problem initially too (although there are two hatches that open to clear out the occasionally mutilated foam dart), BUT we found out that the problem was we were not pulling the shuttle mechanism back all the way before returning it to the forward position. There is a short amount of extra travel after the shuttle has picked up a dart that is necessary to avoid jams. It is sometimes easy to forget this when hiding behind furniture and frantically reloading, but even without operating it properly, the gun will work perfectly about 95% of the time. 5FunFun for our 8 year old. A little hard to pull back and forth to load for younger children. My son practices his aim using the "Crosman Auto-Reset AirSoft Targets" and has fun, and makes finding all the darts easy. 5he replied that "it shoots elite bullets and elite bullets are better, because they are lighter and go farther when ...This was a reward gift for my son, who is 8. I opted for original packaging for that reason. It came very fast and had all the parts included. We opted to also purchase spare artows, since we have experience with nerf and know the arrows ware quickly. Nerf makes Bows, Blasters, and Crossbows, and this was like a hybrid between a blaster and a crossbow. When it first comes in, you have to assemble it. I was a bit afraid that the bungee cord would snap during assembly, but I can assure you, its stretchy. You could easily replace it with a better quality one, as one of the other reviews stated. It is not electronic. Here are some instructions I made.To fire-1.Pull back gray bar2. Pull it forward, making sure that the bungee cord is latched onto the orange hook.3.Press orange triggerThe load clip holds 12 bullets- but you can replace it with one that holds 6 or 18. It has two hatches on top. It shoots about 70 feet. I would reccomend this product to a friend. 5Powerful BlasterThe Nerf N-Strike Elite CrossBolt Blaster is a beast. This thing is not for small kids as it really fires darts with some authority. It is reasonably easy to cock and having magazine feed makes reloads quick. If you have to enter a Nerf battle you could do much worse than having this at your side. 5nerf guns!These were a big hit for christmas! We haven't seen the cat for days, but enjoying the nerf guns. We ordered http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0152N04KA?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s02 and are happy! 5BULLETS JAMMED AND STUCK FREQUENTLYMy son loved the idea of a crossbow and this is a cool design, but the bullets get stuck in the chamber on a regular basis and they are almost impossible to get out which jams up the gun. I have literally spent 30+ minutes tearing the bullet little by little with tiny grooming scissors and a butter knife before being able to get it out. It happens so frequently that my son rarely plays with it as much as his other NERF weapons and this is one of the two newest ones. 3
