LOVE IT!These are my favorite dinosaurs of all time. As a 27 year old, I have been a dinosaur fan since pretty much I was born!Papo dinosaurs are incredibly detailed and the hand paint is a huge plus, since no dinosaur is exactly the same.This Velociraptor figure is based of the Jurassic Park movie (which I really like, I'm not really into a turkey sized feathered raptor).The lower jaw opens and closes, and its awesome how much the figure changes with a closed mouth.5Papo is the ultimate brand of quality dinosaursAfter having bought the adult T Rex for my 3 year old grandson's birthday at Toys R Us, and being amazed at the quality of the dino...and noticing that he absolutely LOVED the Papo dinosaur even more than his bucket of other dinosaurs (including the Animal Planet bucket and random other dinosaur sets), I decided that Papo was the way to go. I bought the baby T Rex and this Raptor for him for Christmas. With the working jaw and the quality heavy, durable plastic? rubber? materials, as well as the fantastic paint job...these dinos are top quality and worth the money. If there is a dino lover in your house, and you want them to have the best dinos out there...this is the brand to go with. I've even seen YouTube videos that showcase the awesome paintjobs and lifelike details of these dinos. They are THAT awesome.5Not all I hoped it would be. but afterwhile starts to grow on youDetail is good except for poor paint job on back. Stance could have been better. When using tail it is on one toe on each foot which makes it more unstable in stance. Stand 3.8 inches tall and 6.5 inches long. Weighs 2 ounces. Was going to get the green and the blue but not now unless they correct it's stance. Closer examination shows the flat part of the foot for standing is on the 2 toes on the right and left feet. The feet are turned in causing the figure to stand on the edge of the outer toe on each foot. If they can correct that I will buy the other 2 figures they offer.Update: Have had some time with him and he starts to grow on you. He must have gotten squashed in the mail, he did come all the way from England, and he is starting to stand more like he was designed. Detail is very good but the only negative is the paint job. He does not match the picture which seems to be the norm these days. He looks grey in the picture but he is a darker green and the shiny brown clashes. It does deter from what is a good detailed dinosaur or prehistoric bird which ever you prefer. So raising it to 5 star.Be nice if they could be more accurate in the description. By the way he weighs 2.0 ounces not 1.6.Picked up the green one.5Great Paint JobPapo has the best quality and designs. I put him next to the young spinosaurus in one of my pics, to help give an idea of scale. He's about the same size as the feathered version. The white on his back is really cool, and I love this one particularly. Be aware, this one is the exact same design as the blue, green, and grayish one. I picked this one, because it was the cheapest of the 4 color choices, but I was really happy when I received him.5Nice raptor, TERRIBLE paint job.The sculpt is beautifully done, the paint job? Not at all. The product image doesn't show both sides and the one I got had an asymmetric paint job. I appreciate that each is hand painted, however the person responsible for this one really phoned it in the day this was made. Not to worry, I DO know how to paint, and a little bit of acrylic paint gave Zippy a fresh look. So if you don't mind retouching this and aren't going to give it to a child, buy this. If you are giving this to a child, buy it any way, I'm pretty sure they won't mind an asymmetric raptor. It is beautifully designed and the jaws open and close, so very fun to play with.4Highest quality dino figureI bought this "seloptiraptor" (as my four-year-old son pronounces it) along with dinosaur figures from Safari and Schleich. While all three were good quality, the Papo was clearly the best. It is a lower density plastic than the other two brands but at least as rigid. The paint job of the Papo is where it really stands out - very realistic looking and none of the minor flaws visible on the other brands, even after weeks of heavy play. The hinged jaw was a nice surprise and it appears sturdy. I was worried it would break off, but I have not even seen any signs that it is becoming loose.5Great product, highly recommend.These dinosaur figures are beautifully painted, high quality molds. I love the moving jaw and the fine detail inside the mouth. I would highly recommend this product for anyone looking to collect dinosaur figures or like me are looking for a great toy to buy for that particular child that loves dinosuars. These model figures may not walk or make sound but you can't beat the quality and from what I've seen as soon as a kid picks one of these dinosaurs up their imagination does the rest.5Repainting makes all the differenceI received my raptor in a very timely manner, a few days before it was supposed to come, actually. I really like my little raptor. Like many said in previous posts, the paint job was no good, but the quality of the sculpt made up for it. I decided to repaint it to look like Blue, from the new movie Jurassic World. I used acrylic paint, that I watered down, so it wasn't as thick, and then I used a sealant on it, so the color wouldn't chip. I am much happier now, Blue comes with me places, and everyone gets a kick out of her. Definitely worth the price I paid for it ($12.00)!5Straight out of a JP movie (except for the lousy paint job)The nicest velociraptor model I've seen anywhere. This is like a collectible figure being sold as a toy, except for the comically bad paint job. But it looks super lifelike standing up on its feet and tail tip, and for my purposes (drawing reference) I'm very happy with it. I wish I could find a scientifically-accurate feathered raptor model half this nice!4learn while you playWell made, so much more than a "toy". It is fun to play but it fosters curiosity to learn. My grandson, as many others, is just fascinated with dinosaurs. He has become quite knowledgeable about each addition to his collection. I find the Papo figures to be superior to some others. We especially like the articulated/moveable jaw.........much better for enjoying it's prey at playtime. Due to the quality of the Papo Velociraptor , I am sure he will be enjoyed for many years by many children.5
