    Barbie Girl in a Digital World...What better gift than to give a young girl a book to write her thoughts in and kept safe than a diary. This item was sent to my 9 year old niece as one of her Christmas gifts. Now I wasn't there myself to bare witness to the excitement she expressed, but for a brief moment she was ecstatic to open her unexpected analog gift in this digital age. Sadly, this momentous occasion was spoiled by her meddling 14 year old teenager of a cousin as her enthusiasm turned into jealousy and shame from some name brand device made by a struggling child from some foreign land between their age range. Of course, this world has a certain sense of irony, the tablet broke in only a couple of weeks. Take that, teenagers! Minus 1-star for those awkward years. 4Well constructed and a very good value for the moneyWell constructed and a very good value for the money. The cover has raised outlining and is pretty. The lock is heart shaped and is easy to secure on diary. The keys fit into the lock easily. Having two keys isngreat 5Perfect!I gave this to my niece for Christmas. She loved it. I also gave a different journal to her mother, one that was geared to an adult, and she preferred this little pink one. It is pretty inside and out. The pages inside are NOT blank, which is what I look for in a journal. They are colored and somewhat decorated. And it is a decent size. Not exactly a full-sized journal, but not a mini journal either. Just right for little girls.And PERFECT for any girl that loves pink! 5Great for the priceMy 9 year old loves this diary. She liked that it is a little different key than usually issues with these diaries so it is different from her brother. 5She loves it and I think she will enjoy reading it later in lifeThis was a gift for my 5 year old granddaughter. She has her mother write a few sentences every night about her day. She loves it and I think she will enjoy reading it later in life. This was exactly what she had been asking for. Her mother keeps the second key in a safe place, but the diary is carefully locked every night. This seemed a way for her express some emotions about her life. I would buy this again. Yes recommend this diary :))) 5Nice for us big girls, too!Reading the other reviews, it appears that many people purchased this to give to little girls. Well, I am in my 60's and I thought it was so pretty, I bought it for myself! I use it as a journal and a place to write my thoughts and prayers. It is very lovely, and the picture does not do it justice. It looks much, much nicer in person. The cover is decorated with sequins, tiny seed pearls and bugle beads. The lock is also decorated. The pages are pink, have wide-ruled easy-to-write-in lines, a space for the date, and have drawings of happy-looking flowers. The back of the pages are white. The only complaint I have is that it appears my copy may have gotten damp at some point, as the pages lay a little bit unevenly and the first ten or so pages were stuck together and had to be separated. However, it still deserves five stars! And it would make a great gift for a girl of any age! 5Perfect for your little girlMy daughter is 7 and she received a similar diary for her birthday in October. She wrote in it every day, sometimes several times a day and filled it up. So glad that I found a similar one with the same locks so she could continue. It just melts my heart seeing her go into her creative corner and just write and draw and dream. Writing is such a dying skill. I know it. I can't write a paragraph without my hand cramping up. She's inspired me to actually start writing in my own diary again. ^_^ 5it's not going to keep a determined nosey sibling from getting some good bribe materialHome run for my 10 yr old daughter. It took her about 10 seconds to misplace the keys the first time, and once found, it was another 2 or 3 days before the lock was lost to monsters (or sofa cushions - I'm still looking into it.). All that aside, she's writing in it daily, and loves it. As for the lock, it's not going to keep a determined nosey sibling from getting some good bribe material. But for mine, she knows she can trust her dad to keep his nose out of her business. 5Daughter loves it & we bought a second for her friend's bdayGave this to my daughter for Valentine's Day. She adores it. Carries it everywhere. It comes with two keys which is nice because she lost the first one in about five minutes flat. We found her key and now keep a second key in the drawer for when she loses the other, which happens about four times a day. And she loses the lock as well. But she enjoys writing in the journal and it helps to improve writing skills. We were so impressed with how cute it was that we bought one recently for her friend's birthday party. 5
