    I spoke to the manufacturer - here is what I learned.....I have bought the horse barn, the puppies and the tree with the forest animals. Kids love these. I saw the negative reviews for the kittens so I called the manufacturer before ordering. Here is what I learned:- The photo here on the Amazon website is still incorrect (as of Oct. 2013). The photo shows short-haired cats and they have pointy faces (some other reviewers said they looked like rats).- Because of the complaints the manufacturer changed the product. Their fur is now longer (around 1/2 inch) and their faces and bodies are fuller.- They are slightly bigger than the puppies and the horses- The carrier now has a back-door- Apparently there are some retailers that may still have the older model, but most now carry the newer model.Things to know about the carriers for all the animals:- When the carrier arrives it is slightly squished - I just stuffed in some clothes and let it sit a day or two, and when I removed the clothes the carrier was fine.- The velcro on the back door isn't great, I wish they used more to keep the back door shut properly. But my kids were fine with it.To sum up:- If you are giving it to a child that likes kittens, then they will love this. Likewise, horses to a horse lover, puppies to a dog lover. Between the puppies, horses, kittens and tree with the forest animals, if I had to choose, I guess I like the kittens the least. However, again, a child that likes kittens will really like this product! 5Very soft and cute!Honestly, I didn't think these were going to be worth the $30 but my daughter wanted it so bad! They are actually really cute and she loves putting them all in the little carrier. I now think they were worth it ;) 4Adorable & great quality stuffed kitties!!Sooooo adorable for your little one if they love kitties!! My daughter keeps them out of their carrier and sleeps with them every night. Most times hugging all five! We have a large dog who bites them any chance she gets and she has surprisingly not put any holes in them (yet haha). Plus they look and feel as cute & soft as they did when they first came even after washing them a handful of times (dry on low some and then let air dry). I plan on getting them again if (when) our dog ever finally manages to "eat" one... 5Perfect for a little one fascinated by kittensThis is one of the only gifts that my 4 yr old little boy asked for at Christmas. He was born fascinated by kittens. He has 4 other little stuffed kittens and fell in love with this when he saw it online. You should have seen his face when he opened it. He hugged the entire kitten house and has not put it down. Each kitten has its own little window from which its head peeks. The back of the house has one larger door that velcros shut for easier access to the kittens. The kittens are the following colors: calico, yellow, white, black, and gray. They are very soft and fit easily in one hand. They can be carried around separately or, as my son likes, by the soft handle on the top of the house. The house is pink and soft yellow and embroidered with fish shapes and paw prints. 5Great find for me!Another crazy silly gift for my cat loving 7 year old daughter. She was the cat lady for Halloween! Lol. We have saw these in dogs and she was always upset they never had cats. I'm excited to give this to her as part of her Christmas gifts. 5The kittens are super soft with a little big of pvc pellots inside ...These were a birthday gift for my two year old and she adores them. The kittens are super soft with a little big of pvc pellots inside to give them some weight. They are about the size of the original Ty beanie babies from back in the day. The cat house is cute and seems durable even though it is soft. Mine didn't come squished like others complained of. I personally think Amazon uses too big of boxes and a lot of bubble packs for items that are small and won't break. Better safe than sorry I guess. 5Cute and snugglyMy eight year old is ecstatic with her new cats. The kittens are adorable and soft. I like that the cat carrier is plush as well, easy to store when not in use. Cats all fit in there nicely. The only reason I'm giving this a 4 instead of a 5 is because one of the kittens needed stitching out of the package. It was no big deal and an easy fix for me, but still something I should not have needed to do. 4Purrrrfect PresentIf you've got a kitten-loving toddler in your life, but them this as a gift. We got these for my daughter's second birthday and she's slept with her kittens every night since she got it. The house itself is kind of frumpy and not sturdy, but who cares. It's all about those little tiny kitty cats that are the perfect size so you can hold all of them at once. 5My two year old loves it!!!My two year old loves the kitties! They're small enough for her to carry around and they're adorable! 5Nice gift!I got this as a birthday gift for my young niece who loves cats and is having a cat-themed birthday party. I was a little hesitant to purchase because of some of the reviews, and prepared to send it back if it wasn't nice. But I was very pleasantly surprised!As one reviewer noted, the product is different now: The kittens are furry and there is a back door to the "kennel" that opens and closes with Velcro.The quality was basically what I would expect for a $20 toy. By this I mean the kittens and the kennel were made just fine. You can notice the seams in some of the cats if you look for them, but nothing major. I don't expect it to last until her adulthood, but certainly as long as she's young enough to want to play with it.Overall, I am very satisfied with this product. 5
