    Really great durable toys for boys or anyone rough on things....I ordered three of these and no, I'm not a masochist! I have three boys who love Thomas and didn't care to have them fighting over who gets a whistle to blow. That sound is far more offensive and annoying than the sound of a toy train whistle.For the price I it was a no-brainer. And about that, THIS WHISTLE HAS A PLEASANT SOUND! Not *too* loud, of course that all depends on how hard they blow into it. But it has a pleasing sound that isn't screechy, too dissonant, or too high-pitched either. In the mid-range as far as pitch goes. I would buy this toy for any Thomas fan I know. The parents shouldn't get too upset at a toy that has no batteries and is quieter than most all the electronic toys I've encountered! 5Great whistle not to loud!Great whistle and not to loud. Some of toddlers electronic toys are louder. I gave 4 stars because Its not the sticker is different than the item shown it's still Thomas though. My son loves it anyway! 4Pretty NeatThis train whistle is pretty neat, it does a pretty good job of mimicking the sound of Thomas its more high pitch than a standard train whistle. Only draw back is my son is only 2 and its pretty hard for a small child to figure out the whole concept of how to make the whistle work. So I spent most my time walking around the house acting like a train because he got a kick out of it. Worth the purchase to see him laugh. 4Don't bother!Don't waste your money, unless you're full of a lot of air. You have to have lungs of an air compressor to get this thing to really sound off. My 4yo got frustrated with this early because he couldn't make it sound like a train. I would try and I'd get light headed from having to blow so hard. What a waste of money. 1Pretty convincing train whistleMy three year old is obsessed with trains and he saw one of these in the gift store of a train depot. We were able to find it cheaper on Amazon than the gift shop so we made the purchase for him. He loves running around the house making train noises, and will play with his toy train and blow the whistle at the same time. Sometimes I think the mark of a great kids toy is one that drives the parents batty, but this one isn't too obnoxious. It's. It high pitched or shrill, so that goes a long way. Eventually you tune it out and it's just another noise in the house. It's made totally out of wood so it's pretty sturdy. Just be sure to check the edges around the mouthpiece for any areas that might need to be sanded down a little. A sliver in the lip would be pretty gross. 5Realistic sounding, funI had a wooden train whistle as a kid. This one is great and even has Thomas the Train on it, which is perfect for my 2 year old. As other reviews have stated, it's very hard for a young toddler to blow the whistle on their own. So it's left to the parent to blow it. But that's okay. He still lights up when he hears the whistle and is okay with making a sound himself when trying to blow it. The sticker on the whistle is really cute. 5Great fun but a little hard to use.I purchased this whistle for my 2 1/2 year old son who loves Thomas the Train. The whistle was much bigger than I had anticipated but it does prevent it getting lost and is easier for my son to hold onto. The whistle is about 8 inches long and about 1-2 inches in diameter. The sound is great and is just like an old time train however, it is almost impossible for my son to blow hard enough to get any sound produced. The lack of sound doesn't seem to detract from my son's enjoyment of it and for now he seems content to make blow into it and make the sounds himself. He loves the Thomas the Train pictures on it and carries it around all the time. I think give some time my son will be able to produce the whistle sound and I am sure that it will hold up long enough for that to happen.Overall it is a great whistle, great sound and very sturdy but I think that a 4 year old and up would be much more likely to blow enough air to make the whistle sound. Given all that information I still think this was a great buy for my son and would do it again. I would have given this 5 stars had my son been able to make it whistle. 4Totally different decals...For the price, it'll be fine, but I was a little disappointed that it doesn't look like the product photo since I was buying it to match a costume. 4T-E-R-R-I-B-L-E. The whistle is HUGE, which would be okay if it was easy to blow and get a sound. Good luck blowing hard enough to make a sound ... Ever deal with a kid screaming something doesn't work. Save some agony and money, don't buy. 1Too big for his little mouthIts for the little one (2yrs) but his mouth cant fit over the holes probably to use it. Soooooo im the one who has to walk through the house blowing on this thing.Despite the other reviews, mine works perfectly. Yes mine, not the baby's lol.As far as the sticker/paper... We've had it for a mnth and its still in in tact. When we first recvd it i tried taking it off because of the reviews before purchased. But i couldnt get it off. Great! This is the second one ive had. My now 8yr loved thomas when he was smaller and we had no problem with that one either.Get one you'll love it. Sounds just like Thomas and his people4stars because my son is not big enough to use on his own. The mouth piece needs to be fixed or somethng 4
