    Looking For The Old Rubber 1950 Spalding??I use this for stress by bouncing it against the floor and throwing it from one hand to the other with a twist at the waist with each throw for unwinding stress -- it works remarkable well! Very calming and enjoyable.I like this ball and the feel and it has NO smell! But I am still looking for the 1950 old Spalding. Anyone know where I can get one just like it? So far this is the best I could find. Will keep looking and when I find this magical ball -- I will write a review and shout it from the rooftop! 4This is not a handball! Do NOT buyI thought this was a handball. Pink, Spalding, description days HANDBALL. However, this is a very small bouncy ball. This ball is slightly larger than a quarter. This is not the spalding ball you would play 4 corners with or any other game outside at recess. This is the ball you would buy from the quarter machine. Very misleading picture and most of all, very misleading price. If this ball was $1, it would still be overpriced, but I would not be as upset. However, this ball was over $5 and wow what a waste of my hard earned money. 1OH HAPPY DAYS MY SPALDEEN HAS ARRIVED!!!!Oh joy. Haven't had one of these since I was 13, back in The Bronx. Bounces high. Been throwing it against my kitchen wall. Well, it's MY house so why not? So happy with this. Gotta work on my stickball game. Such memories. Throwing it against the stoop, against the schoolyard wall. PS 95 The Bronx. There's an annual stickball game there the second Saturday in June each year for the Class of '58. Throwing it against an inside wall does not appear to in any way mar the wall.Buy One!!! Be Happy!!! 5I love this ballI love this ball. I was hoping for the superball I remembered from my youth. This isn't it. But it does bounce great. I get a short workout with it, bouncing it on the sidewalk into a brick wall and catching it. Left hand, right hand. After a couple minutes, I'm moving my feet, throwing from different angles. Heart rate goes up, starting to breath a little harder. Laugh out loud. I bought some spares because I thought the first one would wear out, but it's still holding up well. Lost its smooth finish after a couple days, of course. 5Grandson loves it!I purchased for my 6 year old grandson thinking it was larger ( I had wanted something like a 10" playground type and forgot to check dimensions). My grandson loved it so I decided to keep it and then ordered large outdoor type. It does bounce really high on hard flat surfaces and small enough that I do not mind him bouncing it in certain rooms in the house. The only reason I rated it at 3 stars was because of the price and I got a nice outdoor ball for only like a dollar more. I must add that I am a shopper who likes to get more for my money by using coupons etc so in my personal opinion it was a wee bit pricey but when it comes to my grandson I will splurge on that extra dollar :) 3The West Wing real dealI bought this ball for the sole purpose of bouncing it like Toby Ziegler and hoping to become smarter. This is the exact ball he used. Takes practice to how accurate he how got in the episode so I'm assuming Richard plays with this a lot. It bounces as seen on the West Wing episode. 5Cool Ball, but Definately NOT High Bounce I ve always heard about this famous Spaldeen ball and couldn t wait to get one. Like othets, I grew up playing all sorts of games with the perfect bouncy ball, but new had one of these. Decades later, I still think a ball with a high bounce is cool to play with. I had previously ordered a set of three multi-colored rubber balls, much like a racquet ball and they are great. When this ball came in, costing more, I expected a cool ball, with a lot of bounce. Nope ! This ball does not bounce well at all. Even a blue racquet ball bounces higher, especially the red ones. I m very dissappointed and started to return it, but didn t. I m guessing the old originals were much better than these newer ones, much like the crappy new Superballs . But, I never had an original, so I can t make a comparison, but these don t bounce high at all, compared to other types I have. 3For fun or self-therapyOk. So yes you could use this ball for your dog, young child, or handball game for hours of fun. I used it from a recommendation from the Head PT at our clinic to rub out scar tissue on a lower back injury. The ball can be placed under your back and while with feet flat and knees up moving allows your body weight to "knead" the affected areas producing an effective massage to help relieve pressure. While this worked for me, I did notice the ball was a tiny bit compressed (or do I weigh too much? :) ) which limited its effect somewhat, however i did not remember that from the same type of ball that came on a stick at the clinic. None the less, it did its job and was effective at relieving the discomfort I felt. 4VERY BOUNCY! Excellent for handball / wallball.AWESOME.This is exactly what I was looking for. Wanted to hit a ball against the wall at work during breaks to move around a bit, and this is perfect for handball / wallball! Met some pretty lady asked to join me. Before long, I'll start organizing wall ball tournaments at work to play in the courtyard. hahaha A++ light / bouncy (rubber material with hollow inside. There are no holes or spouts to inject/release air)+ soft, powdery touch makes for easy gripping+ squishy enough to be used as a stress / squeeze ball+ love the sound as it bounces (therapeutic). (sounds like a tennis ball that was smacked hard with a racket)It's so bouncy I accidentally hit it over the wall and lost it. Time to replace! I wish they'd come in more colors so they can be more easily located.SIDENOTE: For what it is, it's kinda pricey, but it's a good product. 5gotta buy these if you remember....absolute love these. they were part of growing up in the city when they cost only 25 cents...and they were the "expensive" balls. i've given then away to my childhood friends as varioius holiday gifts. we enjoyed playing stickball (sorry but usually with the less expensive "pensie pinky" because we could lose the ball more easily), stoopball, punchball, boxball, king tug (different in different cities) and similar games that we created as kids. probably the best and least expensive remembrance for any of us old guys who grew up in east coast cities! usable, fun, still the same quality and worth every penny. AND, if anyone wants to start these game up again i'm willing!!!! great fun. one caviat: remember to bounce each a few times...they still seem to need to take a "set" before they get to maximum bounce. that is nice...they seem to be same as the original. 5
