Customer Reviews

Mixed feelings. The good:I like the prop guard. The CX-10 was my first ever quad so the added weight of the guard eased me in to learn how to control the thing. It also protects the blades well. It has a tendency to slip off sometimes but not so much that I think it detracts from the value of the item. The bad:The props are a little sturdier compared to the original props I got with the CX-10. They don't break as easily. However they are EXTREMELY hard to take off. The holes for mounting are much smaller compared to the original props. You have to use pliers and be extremely careful or else you will damage the motor. Some people say the smaller mounts are better because then the props don't fly off often. This, while true is not a good thing because all props have to come off at some point even if they don't break, the CX-10 is ridiculously adepts and finding hairs or tiny strings and strangling itself with them in which case you have to remove the prop of the offending motor and un-strangle it. Hence, bad mounting holes are not a good thing. The ugly:I only received 2 CCW blades in a 'set of 4' the rest were all CW. This was very disappointing but I think it was more of an error than something that was intended. 3Flawed but worksThese propellers worked great. I think they might even be better than the ones that came on the drone. As far as the cage goes; well it does the job but poses some problems if you like to fly your drone VR like me. The bars of the cage will get in the way of the camera view. My solution was to clip off those bars. Now I can slightly see the one bar on the top but it's barely in view. The cage does slow it down a smidge BUT, I fly my drone on medium so if I put it up to high I'm sure it wouldn't even be noticeable. Another thing about the cage is that the support arms broke on the first crash. Here's the deal though; as you can see from the picture there are three support arms. Two of the support arms broke off on each side on the first day I used this BUT somehow one support arm stayed intact on each side. So what I did was clip all the broken ones off which left one arm for each prop. I would've done that anyhow so it didn't matter that they broke.Pros:+Good price+Quality "props"Cons:-Support arms on the cage are brittle-Cage gets in the way of the camera viewOverall, I'm glad I got it and I go through way less props now that the cage is installed which is why I still give it four stars despite the flawed cage design. 4Lots of random colors.I can't say how well the parts work because the quadcopter I ordered them for (from a different seller) never arrived! They look good, very little to no flash to remove. There were a lot of random colors for the blades (not a problem, I like it!).The bump cage was a little warped, but I am a doll collector and already knew to dunk it in boiling water to return it to it's intended shape. It's nice and proper now, but like I said, the copter never arrived so I can't say how effective it is.Edit Jul 26, 2016: I ordered a new Cheerson CX10 (twice, from three different sellers overall) and one finally arrived! The blade guard cover is A MUST for these little quadcopters. We crash it a lot, and the guard has saved the blades each time so far. It fits on very well.Edit Sep 12, 2016: I had to order another cage because some indelicate friends of my husband's destroyed the older one. When flown by me or my husband, neither the cage nor blades ever broke. A must have! .review-image-thumbnail { background-position: center center; background-repeat: no-repeat; overflow: hidden; background-size: cover; height: 160px; width: 235px; } .review-media-gallery-content { height:100%; width:100%; background-color:black; } .reviews-mobile-media-gallery .a-carousel-viewport { margin-left:15px; } .cr-thumbnail-image { float: left; } 5Functional, but not as good as OEM.The blade guard fits the CX-10 well and it functions exactly as it should, however, as many others have stated, it does reduce flight time noticeably, so this is expected. The blade guard alone I would give 4 stars. The blades on the other hand are fairly poor quality compared to the originals. After crashing my CX-10 dozens of times without the blade guard, the blades were affected enough to cause erratic flight, at which point I installed the spare set included in the original package. That restored my quad to it's original performance. I was hoping these blades would do the same thing, but they don't. They aren't quite as sturdy as the originals, and I don't believe the manufacturing tolerances are as consistent either. Thus the quad does not fly as stable as it does with the OEM blades. These blades do work, I just wish I could get the OEM blades instead. 3Recommended for anyone with a Cheerson CX-10 Quadcopter drone...I bought this to protect my second Cheerson CX-10 QuadCopter. The first one went out in a fiery glory as I crashed it more times that I care to count. The end result was 2 broken propellers and 1 broken motor. I had to get a new one so I thought might as well get the propeller guard for it; and of course, the additional propellers are definitely appreciated as part of this package.I received the product sooner than indicated in a well packaged envelop via USPS. At first glance, the Blade Guard is flexible and bents easily, but will snap back to it's original form when let go. It provides basic protection for your Quadcopter propellers and nothing more. It will fit loosely on your drone and may come off if the impact is strong enough. I wish it will fit tighter so I don't have to constantly put it back on, but of course it is by no means a loose-fit, (difference between fit loosely and loose-fit), it will stay on the drone if you don't crash it, a minor bump or two is fine, which I guess will depend on your proficiency as an operator. The other issue that I have with this unit is it's height. If they just make this a bit higher, it could also protect propellers from hitting the ceiling, but I guess the current design is not going to function properly as it is already a loosely fit to start, a bump from the top will just knock it right off...Another issue is that with the additional weight from the Blade Cover, the drone battery will drain a bit faster. But because of the added weight, it will actually fly a bit more stable, and you can see the difference immediately if you take the Blade Guard off... All it all it's still a decent product, so I give it 4 star for doing it's job and only it's job and nothing more. 4This guard-blade may be a good investment for a novice pilot or children who aren't ...This guard-blade may be a good investment for a novice pilot or children who aren't particularly careful, but more seasoned pilots will not appreciate the shorter flight time or less predictable control.Pros:- Same or better quality blade replacements for the ones that come with the cx-10- Blade guard attaches easily to copter, and really lets you bounce off of walls while actually allowing your copter to stay in flight instead of crashingCons:- In an effort to keep the bladeguard light, it is very fragile. Mine has not broken yet, but I'm sure it can easily happen- Despite the above point, the guard is still heavy enough to noticeably impact flight handling and battery life of the cx-10 4It also makes it much less likely to break a blade because it is basically like a bumperThis is basically a must buy for the Cheerson CX-10 as chances are you're going to break a propeller. They also included the guard which I find actually makes the whole thing easier to fly with a bit of additional weight. Instead of driving around a car with too much power, this moderates it a bit. It also makes it much less likely to break a blade because it is basically like a bumper. I've had it brush the wall or a window several times and it just glides. If it was only the propellers, it would have crashed and fallen. My online gripe which took about 30 seconds to figure out from the Q&A section: you install the blade guard from the BOTTOM of the quadcopter. The little plus signs snap onto the motors, not over the propellers. 5Okay, but has some problems. The props seem to work as well as the "factory" ones, and a lot better than another manufacturer I bought some from. I do agree with other reviewers that they don't seem to be quite as sturdy, but they do fly well. The blade guard works, but slips off very easily. I actually ended up securing it with a drop of super glue on each motor mount, otherwise- I had to push it back on after every landing or bump.Even though everyone will tell you that you "need" a prop guard if you are new to flying these things, you almost don't want one for the CX-10. The extra weight and iffy balance kills the performance of the CX-10 and actually makes it much harder to fly. It will also easily cut 1-2 minutes off of your flight time. If flying around small children or anything delicate (probably not a good idea anyway) you probably should use it, but if you fly in an open area (like a basement or garage, or larger office)- you will find things go a lot smoother without the extra bulk. 3Junky Blade Guard! Great props! The blade guard is cheap & junky but the props are ok. The quality of this item is cheap as heck but then again you get what you pay for! Overall, i give 3 generous stars only because i needed props for a quick fix and they worked out but the blade guard was not what i expected, it was not really made to fit cheerson's as described and or implied. There was no form fitting at all to my cheerson, it just was loose and hung about but i really wanted it to stay on for good for protection so i used a tiny drop of krazy glue gel to maintain fit and hold, it actually worked for a while and did a great job protecting my drone before the guard came off again much to my frustration uggh! (In case you're wondering the glue does not hurt/scar your cheerson at all). Lesson here: This item is junk and i will not purchase again, i will not try to save a few extra bucks again, next time i will buy quality made parts for my wee drone! And if you value your drone you should as well! 3Works for Jetjat UltraI got this for my Jetjat Ultra, and the blades fit just fine. Each four blade set comes in a different plastic bag. I picked the green/white ones to install. It would be nice if the "A" blades were both the same color, but it's green A, green B, white A and white B. It would also be nice if the "A" and "B" lettering on the back was larger. I installed them using needle nose pliers. It didn't fly at first, but I checked the owners manual for the correct placement of A and B blades, rearranged them, and then it worked perfectly. Blade identification wasn't the problem, it was that I thought that placing same-letter blades across from each other diagonally was the only requirement. That's true, but the A and B blades also have to be in certain positions. The performance of the drone is the same with these blades as it is with the replacement blades bought from Moto's website. (Those were $12 for four blades and several other items that I didn't need, including a screwdriver, blade guard, and charging cable.) I can't say yet if their durability is comparable.I haven't tried this blade guard yet because my original guard is still intact. They said it would take five to eight weeks to arrive, and it arrived in three. 5
