    Poor Quality knock-offThis was a poorer quality version of one we got for demonstration purposes at my college. The colors we re painted on unevenly, the plastic was thinner and the insides were loose and rattled so the spinning was uneven and would only continue for a fraction of a minute. I would recommend paying a few dollars more and getting one from a reputable educational science equipment company. I ve included a closeup of the company name so you can see were this comes from. 2Really worksWe have all probably tried to get one magnet to hover over another, but they always push to the side then flip and grab each other.But this gadget solves that problem plus it will also spin while hovering over bottom magnets. 4One for the bin, it doesn't spin.I was really hoping that I'd luck out and receive a decent unit. I didn't need it to last forever or do what it claimed perfectly, just some mindless desk distraction. As others have stated it wasn't balanced, so instead of a floating-spinning object it's a sitting-sitting object.You could probably make it work if you wanted to make a test-of-wills project out of it, but not if you only use what's included in the box.I hate returning anything, especially when the dollar amount is this low. I'm going to do so if only to encourage the vendor to up their game. 1Unbalanced cylinder ruins good conceptThe concept is a good one, but the device I received was not balanced, so when spinning it wobbles a lot even if it starts out smooth. This ruins the effect and sometimes even causes the cylinder to escape the magnetic cushion and fall down. I'm disappointed in what could have been a very novel and intriguing desk display. 2Probably would be niceBut when I received it, the cellophane wrapper was inside the box and the little glass that everyone is saying breaks easily, was even available for me to see if it breaks. This can't be returned. I had to find another gift to give away. Oh well... 1Off BalanceNot quite deserving of 3 stars, but not so bad as to get only 2 stars... While the idea behind it is neat, the product doesn't work perfectly, or as advertised. I mean, sure, it floats and it spins, but it is unbalanced. I can get it spinning, barely touch my finger to it to make the spinning be smooth and balanced, and it will eventually start wobbling within 30 seconds and then start banging the base.I don't know what I expected for this price, but I did expect it to at least spin for minutes. 3Magnetic LevitatorI have this sitting on the table where I watch TV and I can't seem to keep my hands off of it. It's such a simple concept yet so continually fascinating. I can't walk by it without giving it a good spin. It was slightly off-balance when I got it but I experimented with various small items to try to bring it closer in. I finally ended up weighting it like they do at the tire shop and it works quite well. It's still not "perfectly in-balance" but it works great. I used one of those small little jeweler's rings that go between a pendant and a chain and a small piece of clear tape. Slightly ghetto but it works just fine! 4Missing PartI bought this for my grandson and just gave it to him for his birthday today November 24, 2018, It is missing the glass to do the levitation..Could someone please contact me. 1decently fun office toyI bought this levitator to have a small fun little toy for my office desk. I got the box and was a bit disappointed by the cheap packaging. However, I continued to use it. The toy is a weirdly shaped white and black rod that hovers above a cheap black base with magnets that counteract the rod. To keep the rod in place, or rather attempt to keep it in place, is a plastic wall at one end.Overall, this is fun to play with to get distracted at work. Unfortunately, it isn't super great quality though. It seems to not be perfectly balanced so it doesn't spin for very long and you can never spin it very fast. Typically a high quality levitator will sit in place and, when spun, will spin for a long time. This being off weight spins, and sometimes even comes off the track altogether. It was a bit disappointing. If you spin it slower, it works a little better, but still doesn't spin for very long.If I had to do it all over again, I probably would find a higher quality one of these and spend a few extra bucks. 3Works great, fun little toy. Glass always inevitably breaks (replacement parts not available).We love these and ours have always worked well. However you have to enjoy it while it lasts, the glass breaks far too easily and no replacement parts are offered as far as we can tell. We've gone through so many of these, always sooner or later it gets knocked over and the glass breaks (count on it) and it's useless. The best way I've found to get a replacement for all the broken glass pieces is to buy a cheap half-price imitation (entire toy) from overseas on an auction site, if you're willing to wait a long time for it to arrive (thus the discount price). 3
