    Lovely Chess Set, Pieces, and Board which converts to its own clever case! This handmade set is lovely. In particular the kings and queens. The case, within which all the pieces are stored (awesome idea), is beautiful. You can easily grab your set and go as my 14 yo son does for Chess club. I felt the cost was just perfect for his age and interest. He's even reteaching me!The only thing we weren't thrilled with were the numbers and letters. 7s should be crossed as they look exactly like the1s, which is why people started crossing their 7s to begin with! We're American yet we cross our 7s and zs. In general the numbers and letters could have been neater and clearer. But the set is beautiful and we are very happy with it. 4Missing all the pawns... I just opened the package in my truck to find out there are zero pawns... Not happy. 1The chess set is awesome. Came on delivery time and packaged very well The chess set is awesome. The board is beautiful, the pieces well executed, no flaws, chips or rough spots, excellent artistry in design and crafting. There is another version of this set with taller pieces and a bigger board, for about $20 more, but this size, tho named 'Junior', is certainly not inferior in any way and is wonderfully useable. You don t find sets like this at your local toy stores. This chess set is particularly divine as it was handcrafted from Poland. Each piece created with such intricate detail. The board it s self beautifully designed with appropriate alpha-numeric positional side reminders. This set if cared for properly would be a nice set to hand down from generation to generation. The clasps lock keeping the board closed. Inside the pieces are safe in felt lined molding to protect them from getting scratched or broken. This is a treasure for sure. I plan on leaving this to my daughter.There are no extra queens or pawns or other pieces as each piece is hand crafted. 5Lovely warmth in this woodwork Part of the true art of woodworking is to be able make an object that is beautiful, reasonably strong, and light. This board and set achieves those things. It really is of very good quality. If you like wood, you will probably love this item. The board adds a lovely warmth to the room and also pairs extremely well with my small maple and bone Isle Of Lewis chess set. It even smells good. The finish has a softness to it, avoiding the problem of having an excessively high sheen which would have been too much like plastic. The pieces slide well. On the other hand, I can't figure out why very tiny parts of some of the numbers and letters are not fully drawn since the fine details are complete in every other respect, but this does not make me like this board less. I supposed that is what some reviewers are referring to as the hand made touch. Thank you Wegiel for making this item that adds so much to my home. 5Very Nice Quality Chess Set--Good Value I searched for a while to find a nice quality chess set that the pieces could store inside and when opened up the board would lay flat for a price under $50. I believe we found it with this set. We were impressed the quality of the wood and the carving and my daughter loves how all the pieces fit back inside. She has taken this with her to friend's houses and everything comes back in 1 piece with no problems. We feel it was a great value for our money and is perfect for a beginner or a teen or young adult. I could see someone who has played for years and plays a lot would maybe want a more expensive board but I don't think this one looks cheap or feels cheap and it has been perfect for my teen. 5This is a wonderful chess set - high quality and their customer service ... We tend to, from time to time, leave a game unfinished at our breakfast bar that has high bar stools. I was disappointed to see the morning after we left an unfinished game the night before that one of the unmoved chess pieces was missing! We believe our poodle who likes to jump on those chairs snatched a piece (he is fine no medical issues at all he may have hid it - we looked everywhere with no other explanation). Anyhow, I was really disappointed because I love this set and the piece was no where to be found. I contacted the seller after our extensive search and with no questions asked, promptly put another piece in the mail. The funny part was when I emailed them the story they said they would send me the piece with a little smiley face at the end of the email. I could not be happier with this purchase. Again, high quality and customer service is great. THANK YOU! 5this was far and away the best choice. I showed him the other option once ... I was debating between this set and a triple weighted black and white set that came with a roll-up game board. These pieces aren't as weighted, but the game board/carrying case makes up for it. For myself, I still might have chosen the other set. But for my son, who this was a gift for, this was far and away the best choice. I showed him the other option once the wrapping paper was gone and the first game was played - he was very glad I went with this one. Perfect set for a chess playing 10 year old. 5
