    Phenomenal pencilsI adore every aspect of this set of pencils! You can use dry like ordinary pencils or use a water brush and watch them come alive! 5Why not number or name the different pencils?I'm disappointed that the pencils do not bear unique numbers or names, which would make it easier to use the same pencils once you've begun a project. 4Great ToolOur Granddaughter has become quite an artist - and for Christmas we gave her this set of pencils - to further her art. We have not used them but she has - and absolutely loves them! She has drawn us pictures and colored them in - using this item - and not only was she impressed but - so were we. She is a college student - and - we do think - this is a great tool for those interested in art! 5I have been in love with their pencils for over 30 yearsYou simply can't go wrong with Caran d'Ache coloring pencils! These are very high quality and ultra soft. I have been in love with their pencils for over 30 years. It is worth investing on such quality products that will last many years. 5IncomparableBy far the best color pencils. Incomparable to all other brands I have used and I have used most of them. Pigmentation is rich and tip is soft. They offer variety and versatility. The slightest pressure can give you deeper or lighter shade and tone. They blend smoothly with other color pencils if needed. Although I have found them usually enough on their own, I have used them with the more intense Caran D'Ache Museum colors for varied emphasis and overtones. They results are vibrant and deep. They are among the few color pencils that I can use for a wide range of shades and lighting, foreground and background. I ordered from Amazon and they arrived on time and in perfect condition. 5I am really happy that I purchased this setI am really happy that I purchased this set. I love the way the pencils glide on the paper and are vibrant. They are not oily and also feel very sturdy. They sharpen nicely as well. The only disadvantage of this set is that The pencils are numbered and not given a color or a name. It would make choosing the colors a lot easier and would have no problem on deciphering what color it is. 5Short pencils, limited color selection, but very fun to useWhen they said "travel pack," I thought that referred to the limited selection of colors. But these pencils are only 3.5" long, and you can't easily use them all the way to a stub. So you're getting a limited color selection and a short size. I suppose it is a good size if you wish to travel light, though.The pencils laid down nice color, and the colors ("primary" red, yellow, blue; green, brown, and black) can be "mixed" on the paper to make a nice variety of colors. This was my first try at watercolor pencils, and I love using them--though I will be buying the full-length versions in the future. 4Mess free and zero clean up painting for all agesAs a child growing up in Singapore, our color pencils of choice were Caran d ache. I don t see this Swiss-brand getting much use around here TBH so haven t thought much about it. My mom reminded me recently of their existence and how they can be transformed to water color. I typically am lazy and don t like setting up paint supplies but was recently introduced to the Pentel Aquash brush. It has a reservoir that stores water. With a gentle, squeeze, the brush gets wet. If you need to clean the brush to switch colors, you just dab on some paper towels and squeeze more water out. It s freaking brilliant. 5Really Great Colored Pencil setI love these! I was referred to this brand by a friend as I wanted something that would work well with water blending. They are really good pencils. Not too hard and waxy. Perfect for using as is or for blending. I'm a beginner with the watercolor pencils. But this was a great buy and a great set to start with. 5LOVELY!I thought the FC metallics were better but these are more true to metallic effect! The FC are more soft and smooth but they have been worked in a little. The only thing I like better is that FC has more colors but the colors mesh too close. I will update these later the more I play around with them. The photos attached have Caran D'a at the bottom and Faber Castell on top. 1st photo was taken in sunlight, 2nd indoors with flash, 3rd pic is blended out with water brush, and 4th pic I penciled back in on top of the wet paper. I haven't tried mixing or blending to see what these can truly do and I haven't tested on watercolor paper. The swatches are done on regular paper. As you can see in the 3rd pic, the colors disappear as soon as water touches & the 4th pic you can easily layer color back over. In person you can still see a subtle effect of the colors in the 3rd pic and if you use watercolor pencils I know you can create beautiful work with these pencils! It looks like it disappeared but it leaves a subtle color/sheen to it and just looking at the pink up close, what comes to mind is creating Clouds with a beautiful pink effect! I'm more fascinated with these than FC metallics for sure. I will mess around with both and update. They can kind of go hand in hand for color variation purposes as well. I don't regret purchasing the FC's by any means. 5
