Was chace threads . 4 link suspension Cleaning threads.4This tool worked great to clean up threads on my projectThe pictures do match the item I received, they must have been updated since the negative reviews I read.This tool worked great to clean up threads on my project. It has a good weight and seems to be made of high quality metal. Much better than the dies in my cheap Chinese set from harbor freight. I beat the ends of a threaded stainless steel rod on the power tilt and trim of my 1978 Chrysler outboard engine with a big hammer. I mushroomed the end of the rod. This die cleaned them right up. One side of the rod was worse than the other. In the worse side I beveled the end with my dremel in order to get the die started. I used tap magic cutting oil, Worked great, now I can get my project back together!5Restores damaged threadsThis rethreading die (7/8 -14NF) is indispensable when working on a Jeep JK Dana 44 differential. The Dana pinion nut is softer than the pinion shaft and is designed to deform as it is tightened. This leaves pieces of the nut imbedded in the pinion threads. If you try to put a new pinion nut on without first removing the old nut debris the new nut will jamb and strip before you can get sufficient preload on the bearings. By cleaning the pinion threads with this die your new nut will start easily and will tighten with the force you need.5Worked like a champ!One of the lug nuts on my trailer was put on way too tight and I stripped out the threads removing it. I bought this rethreading tool and it cleaned up the threads quite nicely. Tip #1: oil up the threads before starting. Tip #2: remove the rethreading die after a few turns, clear off the metal fragments, add a little more oil, and continue on rethreading.5Worked perfectlyI had a bad lug on my 11 wrangler and I needed to start the threads again. This did the trick. A great tool to have for any jeep JK owner.5Saved my a&&I replaced the bearings on my mower, and damaged the threads, because I am in fact a moron. Rather than paying almost a hundred a spindle to replace them, I bought this bad boy and repaired the threads. I doubt it'll last in an industrial setting, but if that's your need, you need to drop more money anyway.5Worked great for me! Saved a lot of money using this!This rethreader really got me out of a jam! I had a 1" x14 bolt that was welded to front wheel forks on a vintage 1960's golf cart. The threads were damaged due to rust when the nuts were removed. I had 2 good threads at the end of the bolt that allowed me to use the rethreader. Very slowly using oil on the threads i was able to straighten out the bad threads making the 1" bolt usable. This saved me a lot of time and money not having to take this to a machine shop to be rewelded with a new bolt and have to drill a new hole for the cotter pin! Good luck with your project! Ted5A quality Die for chasing threads.Received wrong Die , due to package marking error. This was not Amazons fault. Received correct one and returned wrong Die. Amazon was great about this and promptly sent correct one. A testiment to Amazon service. Die worked flawlessly on chasing wheel stud bolts on a Steiger tractor. Thanks Amazon.5Worked great on the output shaft of a Jag Compact A-Type OverdriveWorked great to clean up rusty threads on the output shaft of a Compact A-type Laycock-DeNormanville Overdrive that had been sitting outside exposed to the elements. The cotter pin had rusted solid so I had to break it off and use an impact driver to remove the castellated nut which should have been able to be removed by hand after loosening. Needless to say the threads were a rusty, damaged mess. The output shaft on these is part of the Annulus and it's expensive to replace and hard to find. I woulda been pretty well buggered if this die didn't clean it up. I coated the threads liberally with Tap Magic cutting oil and carefully and slowly spun this die home by hand. After tightening it up and down a few times I'm happy to say that the threads are now in good shape. The nut can be easily turned all the way by hand - as it should be. This nice little die saved my sanity and a very expensive vintage car part!5
