    Dull finishI had hoped these would be a nice addition to my coloring supplies.Not so. The colors are more pastel and they do not leave anything close to a metallic finish. In addition, these markers are hard to handle and go on rather thickly.I would not recommend these. 2Any Color Marker On Any Color PaperThese markers certainly do live up to the expectation. I can use any of them to write on any color paper and it actually shows up; even colors you wouldn't expect to work like the darker blue on black paper. I gave the product 4 stars instead of 5 for two reasons:1) The makers' tip dulls to a rounded tip more rapidly than with standard markers2) The silver marker had to be shaken from the end opposite the tip in a manner you would shake a mercury thermometer in order to get it to write correctly. 4You NEED to Try These Markers!!!!I bought these for my adult coloring books due to the fact that at that time, they were an "add-on item." Am I ever glad I did! I LOVE these Crayola Metallic Markers! I figured 'what the hay, try them out' I just couldn't be more happy with what I have been able to use them for. I just finished 'coloring' a huge candy machine which was all metal (save the glass dome) and there was just enough metallic 'grit' in these markers to give me just the desired effect and that candy machine looks awesome! I have had them for at least three months now and use them in Steampunk and other pages where there is something of a metal nature (along with my Prang Metallics) and these just do not disappoint! When I ordered them I was initially going to give them to my ten year old Granddaughter for her adult coloring (age appropriate) and now I do allow her to borrow them on an as needed basis! I never dreamed I would get so much effect (and enjoyment) from Crayola since I have a great stash of high end coloring product but color me surprised. I truly do love these. I saw a couple reviews that people had some problem with the nib, I have not had a single problem and I have used them often. I am very careful with my coloring supplies and always immediately re-cap them.I want to add that these are 'true' metallic in nature - not gel metallic pens, but markers that leave a metallic finish. I am a happy satisfied customer! 5'These are perfect for robots, mom!"I bought these markers as part of my 5 yr old son's Easter basket. He immediately used them, and only them, as he drew robot after robot after robot...the perfect thing to draw with these markers. He has used them so much that they are now used up... not even 1 month later. Do your child (and you!) a favor and order these awesome markers. They do have a visible metallic sheen and add interest to any drawing. 5Supurb valueThese are exactly what I wanted this holiday season to address my homemade holiday cards that will be in black custom envelopes. I wrote each color on black cardstock paper to show you how lovely these look on black. If they released a version with a brush tip I'd be even happier but this is a great value for so many pretty colors. Even the black shows up good on the black paper. I do want to point out that the markers are a little smaller than the thick markers that have been out forever and a little wider than their long skinny markers. I also posted an image of my holding one to give you an idea of the size. Enjoy and happy coloring! 5Hard to ControlI like these, I just don't love them.Cons:I wish the size of the tips were much smaller which would allow for greater control; they tend to be very messy and bleed out rather quickly if not careful. Not sure why they wouldn't make more colors; these are so limited. Take some time to dry.Pros:I do like the colors which are quite vibrant and very beautiful once dried; they are smooth in texture; not chalky at all & didn't have or leave a strong odor.Artwork Samples:Hawkman - metallic used in wings; again very hard to control; metallic tend to run rather quickly but gave a rather nice contrast with using traditional colored pencils.Metallic Color used: Slick Silver & Gold Ingot (blended with colored metallic pencil)Flowers: absolutely loved how the metallic just made this pop; love the glossy finish and, 'wow' affects it contributed to this piece.Metallic Colors used: 1. copper mine w polka dots (upper right hand corner), 2. colbalt blue & silver (center-middle-flower), 3. purple steel (& white: upper left hand corner), 4. copper mine (& white stripes with polka dots rose: mid-lower right hand corner). Fairy Goddess w Giant Seahorse animal: pink bling; could perceive as grape vines throughout hairWould I recommend: NoPros Recap Glides Smoothly Smudge Resistant Once Dried Vibrant Colors Non Strong Odor (but not odorless)Fellow illustrators: I would love to team up; email me. 3They are OK, not wonderful but not horrible either....I bought these markers for adults, so they are well treated! I was disappointed with the colors (all the colors are dark) and thought that they'd be more metallic. They are more pearlized than metallic.They won't last long for children, the tips are fairly fragile and wear out quickly. Each time I use one of them some of the tip peels off, just a tiny bit, but x's 100's of uses, it will be gone quickly!In my picture you can see the front of the page and the back of it. This is very heavy printer paper. I also used a Sharpie for comparison. The sharpie goes through onto the back and on to the next piece as well and to the back of that piece as well. So in that regard, these are great. I don't know if they are washable, don't really need that feature! :) 3ChalkboardGreat. I used these, and another brand. 5Five StarsBeautiful colors and doesn't leak through paper! 5Not vibrant, not all of them have a metallic sheenThe black and bronze do not have a metallic hue in themThe colors of the barrel (esp of the cobalt blue) is misleading.I used it thinking it would like a pretty marie antoinette blue, like its barrel color suggests (its very pastel tone in real life)but it is very dark.Same with the purple.The silver, gold, and pink bling I like. Pink bling is more like lailac.I wish they sold them in individuals.Compared to the glitter markers, these have pointed, weaker tips whereas the glitter markers have rounded firmer tips.Metallics don't bleed through copy paper. Glitter markers do.Glitter markers sparkle and are very vibrant, but you need to shake em up.Metallics are not sparkly. They're kind of subtle. Some have a sheen, some don't. The metallics are on the darker side except the silver, gold, and pink bling.Red is not part of this package.I ended up liking the glitter markers better because of their vibrant colors and durable tip. 2
