    Great quality and varietyI bought this set for my 5-year-old son, as he is going through the "rock and dinosaur" phase. As a geologist myself, I truly appreciate the quality and variety of rocks included. My son loves to pick a rock and try to identify it using the book. Not every rock/mineral in the book will be in the set so he actually has to pay attention. He has started picking out rocks in the book that he wants next. This is a great starter kit for anyone or even a great way to add to your existing collection. Would recommend to anyone. 5Beautiful rocksI bought this for my daughter who loves all kinds of rocks. When it came, I was a little surprised at the size of the book. It is quite small, as I was expecting a full sized book. The rocks are beautifully polished, and very good sized. My daughter takes them out of her box and looks at them all the time, she especially likes the purple geode! I supervise him during play with these rocks as they are small and could fit in his mouth. Only reason I gave 4 stars and not 5 is because one of the rocks came smashed into tiny little pieces. 4You ROCK!We ordered this collection as part of a Valentine's card gift idea for my 5 year- he chose a special gem stone for each friend in his class and we slipped it into a little velvet bag with the name of the stone. The identification booklet made this fun & easy to do- the images were great and allowed my son to match the gem with the name. While he signed the "mine cart" valentine, I read to him the description of the stone and the little fun facts. The quality of the stones, the packaging and the booklet make this collection a perfect gift for one or to share with others!I found myself already thinking of HOW I could buy another one!!Thank you for sharing your love and helping instill an interest in the future geologist! 5Missing a stone....I ordered a few things from the same company spending over 50 bucks... I was missing stones in both sets.... it s only 18 stones I want the stones they say are in the box but nope... 2 were of the same stone so not only am I missing one I m also got another double one... it s not bad for a starter set. I was specifically looking to get chalcopyrite but instead got 2 turritella agate... 4Rock and mineral collectionThese rocks come in a small plain box and much to my pleasure, arrived the day after I ordered them. I bought the collection as a gift for a 5 year old and I have not yet heard how she liked it. I opened the box and saw a nice, but small geode. The size and packing of the box made it easy for me to mail the gift. I did not look at the whole collection, but there seemed to be a good number of fairly small rocks. I might update this review when I find out how the child liked this collection. 4Choking hazardI think this is a nice set, but I wish the rocks were larger. I purchased it for a 4 year old that has a 1 year old sibling. They play together all the time. The rocks in this set are a choking hazard for a toddler. There was a note inside the package requesting feedback, so I emailed the company but did not receive a response. There is a $5.99 charge to return, which is disappointing. 3NOT 18 PIECESThis claims to be an 18 piece rock collection and our package included 10 rocks/minerals!! That s it!! My eight year old is extremely disappointed and I feel like I wasted my money!!!UPDATE 5/4/2019; The seller reached out and replaced my item for free. The second set we received was a compete set and my son loved it 5My 9 year old was happyI felt the purchase was okay. My rock-loving son liked the selection and was happy upon opening the box. It was well packaged and the mini rock info book was cute and useful. He was overly excited by the arrowhead included. I took a star off because I personally thought that it was overpriced a bit because the actual rocks were small and there weren't a ton of them. 4
