    Expect tears when it falls apart -- Cheap, Cheap, Cheap Construction. You get what you pay for!I bought this toy sword as one of the gifts for my young grandson's birthday and it turned out to be his favorite toy. However, after only a few minutes of play time the lights quit working. Next simple sword on sword play caused the outer plastic to crack. Then came the sobs and tears from a 4-year old who didn't understand why grandma couldn't just "kiss and make my soord (sic) all better". It broke my heart to see how devastated the little guy was over a toy that broke the same day he got it. So now I'm on the hunt for a toy sword that lights up and makes clanging sounds that can withstand the play action of a 4-year old for at least 3 to 6 months instead of 3 to 6 minutes. As for this one, although the price is very reasonable, if it doesn't even last a single day it's not even worth one cent! Since I was past Amazon's 30 day return policy getting.my money back wasn't an option. 1Had to repair it 30 min out of the boxQuality of the product is sub par for the cost, my daughter used this for Halloween and before we even got out of the house (30 min of use out of the box) it stopped working. I had to open it up and remove all the wiring, turns out the two metal wires the led's are wired to were touching inside causing a short and made the batteries get very very hot. I fixed it and it worked fine from there on out, I don't expect to have to repair something that costs over 20$ 3Quick working within 1 day of use.My son loved this sword and the sounds it made but it didn't make it through 1 night. I kept it hidden away so he could use it on Halloween while trick or treating. It stopped working about 30 minutes into walking. I brought it home and swapped batteries and it still didn't work. Don't expect this to last if it's played with rough. I wouldn't but this for a kid that can be easily disappointed. 1Happy with the purchaseI think these work great for the price. My son loves playing swords and puts a beating on these. Some of them have kind of gone in and out with the sound and lights but for how much they've been used I'm not surprised. I think overall this is a good product for the price. 4Beautiful LED light up SwordThis sword is really nice. It lights up in blue. We got this to go with my son's Ninja Costume. As soon as my son saw it, he took it out to play. He would not put it down. Inclusively, he wanted to take it outside and it got caught in the door. I thought it broke but it simply bent the sword. It still works and my son still enjoys it. I just hope it lasts until halloween haha. 5So funMy 5 year old wants to be a ninja for Halloween and I purchased this for his costume. It's been so fun for him. It lights up so we can see him if he walks ahead of us or is in a crowd with his friends but also activates sound when he swings it. It is so cute. 5Not as good as it looked or sounded in the descriptionNot as good as it looked or sounded in the description. 1. Feels flimsy and the lighted portion rattles around in the plastic frame. After only 1 day one of the swords stopped lighting up or making sounds. Changing the battery didn't help (there was no damage to it that I could tell). 2. I thought the sounds would be a cool feature but the coolness wears off when the noise is continuous. It was bought so I could see my son in the dark while trick or treating. The sounds went off with every movement and was annoying enough, even to a seven year old, that he decided not even the cool light was worth hearing that sound continuously and he turned it off. Thankfully I had chem lights and used those to track him in the dark. I wouldn't buy it again. 3. It worked well as ambient light so we could see our dinner in the dark when we stopped at an outdoor cafe for a late evening meal. 2I recommend buying two.We disabled the sound the first day. Not because it was too loud, but because the sound went off every time you moved the sword. My son loved the sword and we kept the lights but the sound was "annoying" (his words). To be fair, his big sister begged him not to do it because she loved the sound. I would actually recommend buying two (as pictured) because it just makes a lot more sense that way - and it allows you to do sword fights if you have two. 4Bright lights and well made. Just what every costume needs!!!I bought this for my son to use with his Halloween costume (He went as Leonardo, the blue Ninja Turtle). Every Halloween, as a tradition and as a safety precaution, I buy a costume accessory that lights up and so I was thrilled when I found this. I noticed that many people got confused thinking that they were buying two katana swords but, just to clarify, there is only one. It arrived right on time but I don't quite know what to think of the packaging. It came in this super thick cardboard tube and both holes on the end had massive amounts of package tape which looked wadded up and dirty. The tube is strong though, it protected the sword which I was thankful for because the tube was pretty banged up from being shipped when it arrived. The sword itself is very cool. It is very bright and bigger than I expected. My son loves it and hasn't stopped playing with it since we got it. The sound affects are nice and it is not too loud as to get annoying. I love how the sword is made. My son has used swords a few times with his previous costumes and none of them have held up by the end of the night. I am happy to say that this one did! The handle is just what you would expect; regular plastic and light weight. The "blade" is what I love the most. The LED lights are in a small, round, rod inside of the plastic blade so they don't get messed up if you hit anything while playing. The plastic "blade" is kind of squishy, limber, to protect against cracking and falling apart. Overall a very well made product! Definite recommend and may purchase more for parties or maybe another Halloween later on. 5Fun For My 8yr. Old Boy & CostumePerfect for what it is. I got exactly what I expected with this. A cheap but fun light-up sword for my 8 yr old son to use on Halloween. He loves the lights and sound effects. It's not durable enough to last a long time and I didn't expect it to be, but my son is enjoying it in the mean time. He loves to use it in the dark. 5
