This is plastic!I absolutely do not believe all of these reviews were posted by genuine customers. The one I received is so poor quality I cannot believe Mattel even put this to a market. The truck won t even stay connected. My grandson has an abundance of Hot Wheels, including a collection of one hundred plus Monster Trucks. He is four and he is really disappointed. So happy I had points on my account and only paid seven dollars for it on a special one day. It is not really worth that. No I do not recommend this at any cost. Very disappointed in Mattel. And only certain cars will fit properly on the rack. 1Good gift, okay qualityGot this transporter truck for my nephew's fourth birthday. He is all about hot wheels and thought he would be over the moon with this. As he unwrapped the gift he could not contain his excitement and immediately had to load up the transporter with cars. It fits a lot of cars. Of course he was excited about shooting the cars out the front but the trigger would get jammed and he needed help wriggling it back into place. So just some notice to those purchasing for the younger end of the age range- they may have some difficult operating independently. For the price I'd expect the trigger to not jam right out of the box. 3Great STORAGE trailer. It's not a transporter.This is a great buy if you know what you're getting. My son and I manage to fit 56 Hot Wheels and a few Matchbox cars in this behemoth. See the pictures! When fully loaded the trailer isn't going too go far, its far too heavy and if you topple it over the cars will spill out. This is a storage unit NOT a transport unit. My son pushes it around the house a bit but it gets more use after play time, again as a storage unit. The extension of the top shelves is nice. Overly wide or tall car will have to fit on the top. 5Neat, but needs improvementI got this for my 2.5 y/o son who loves Hot Wheels. It is a neat concept to be able to race the cars, and see the flag point to the winner. We spent quite a bit of time over the past few months playing with it together. So I have some a tad more detailed thoughts on it:It is was shorter than I expected, though I didn't read the dimensions. The track comes apart very easily if moved.Quite a bit of cars that fit on track get caught at the finish line. If two cars both hit the finish line nearly same the time, the flag will lean towards the winner but snap to the losing side as the second car hits. This sometimes causes the second car to get caught at the finish line. The lever being so close to the cars at the starting point frequently allows toddler fingers to prevent one car from racing. 3Great toy for kids who love Hot Wheels.I bought this for my son who has collected many Hot Wheels and the cars were laying around the house everywhere as he found it no fun to store it in the collector's display cases. With this truck, not only does he have lots of fun playing with it but also naturally cleans up the cars laying around the home into a neat truck that carries at least fifty Hot Wheels cars. A very nice concept - fun and practical! 5It's still not broken which is saying a lot since I have a 4 year old and 7 year old boy who destroy a lot of toys because theyMy 4 year old son has put this thing to the test over the past 4 months since he received it for Christmas '15. I bought the 9 car gift pack to go with it. It's still not broken which is saying a lot since I have a 4 year old and 7 year old boy who destroy a lot of toys because they like to smash them into things. Hot Wheels 9-Car Gift Pack (Styles May Vary) 5Poorly Designed but Still Fun with ModificationsOur granddaughter really enjoys playing with Hot Wheels. We saved her mother's collection from when she was little, so there are lots of cars for her to choose from. I bought some track with sling-shot type launchers, but she is too young to understand how the mechanism works. This double ramp looked like a good option because it has a simpler launch mechanism. Indeed she was able to make it work immediately. There are, however, some big design flaws in this set. First, the checkered flag mechanism at the bottom makes either slows down or stops the cars so it is not possible to use the connectors at the bottom to add more track. This can be remedied by removing the flag and tab mechanisms (remove screws, take apart, replace the blue piece) and just use the blue arch as a decoration that adds some rigidity to a fairly flimsy system. The second issue is the ramp at the back. In one of the photos it shows this ramp stationary at the top, when there is actually nothing to hold it there. I am thinking of removing that too or adding some supports to keep it in place. A small design change would make this possible. Third, the lift in the garage is too high to drive a car onto it. That is solved by a child's imagination. Even with all of these flaws, our granddaughter is having lots of fun.I found out that we are not the only ones having these problems by watching a few of the YouTube videos on this set. I have definitely learned that I should watch the videos before purchasing rather than after. There are lots to choose from so I don't recommend any one in particular. 2Great idea with poor qualityThis was a great idea that was poorly executed. The plastic is so thin, that it flexes and falls apart easily (see the blue lift on the floor. Also the track comes apart at the hindge easily). In comparison to the quality of he hot wheels garage that we purchased less than a year ago, the difference is substantial. Also the mechanism that shows which car won, only works sometimes. My kids just got this last night and they already have grown frustrated with it, and have gone back to the other hot wheels sets. 2Not as functional as it could be.My son has tons of hotwheels cars so we thought this would make a pretty good addition to his collection. He does like it, but barely uses it. He gets frustrated because he loads it up with cars, but as soon as it turns the wrong way or bumps anything the cars fall all over the place. I can't say I blame him, I have also loaded it up and tried to move it and next thing the cars are everywhere. 3Solid build, good fun.Bought this for our 4 year old. It's a great truck; very sturdy and doesn't feel like it will break despite the abuse he's given it over the past few weeks. It comes with three cars and you can load a bunch more on the bottom row and more on the top. Not all Hot Wheel and Matchbox cars will fit as once in a while we run into a car that is a little too wide; the 'tracks' on the truck seem just slightly smaller than the orange race tracks. The cars on the bottom rows will shoot out the front of the truck. This action isn't exactly precise and sometimes the cars come flying out and sometimes the kind of roll out a little early when you pull the launching button back, but it's still fun. Again, some cars do better than others. Aside from the size requirement, we discovered that convertibles and other cars with lots of jagged top portions tend to get stuck so we avoid launching those. The from part of the truck has to be pushed all the way back and snapped into the trailer for the cars to launch, and in this configuration it won't move side to side. But if you pull the front part forward it will easily move side to side. If you look at the pictures this will make more sense.I will say that although I thought the launching function would be the coolest part, my son actually prefers just driving it around and loading cars onto it. He uses the launching function only occasionally.Overall, a great purchase and easily worth the price. 5
