    It's durable and easy for him to useI bought this for my then 4 yr old who would take off with the measuring tape from my craft room. It's durable and easy for him to use. What I wish I had known was that it makes a very loud clicking noise when you wind it. Of course the kids don't mind but this parent finds it annoying. 3I find myself grabbing it pretty often to measure things as we are still getting ...I bought this for my daughter who is learning about measurements. It is easier for her to hold on to and you don't have to worry about the tape rolling back up and hurting someone. You have to reel the tape back in manually so everyone is safe! I've been injured too many times with those crazy metal ones! 5Broke & loudThis broke after a week and a half of use but I will say that my 3 year old kept pulling it & using it to tie up things more than for measuring. It ripped @ the end and the yellow end came off.The wind up is extremely loud. It is really annoying. And my son did not enjoy winding it up.The table is soft & safe & it stays in place ok when measuring. The numbers are easy to read.It is oversized. Just not like a normal real life tape measure. Not what we were looking for. 2End cap ripped off fairly quickly.I love the idea of it since my 4 year old loves measuring but I don't want him to get hurt by the sharp measuring tools we adults use. It looked like good quality and he enjoyed it for a bit. It is pretty loud when pulled although that didn't bother me most days. My problem is that my one year old ripped off the end cap really easily and it then posed a choking hazard for the baby. The ease with which it came off kind of surprised me. We put a knot in it but I wished it would have lasted longer. 2A must have for children's tool collectionI bought this for my then three now four year old granddaughter. She loves playing with hand tools but most kid toy kits don't have a tape measure.She has seen grandpa use his tape measure frequently and always wants to use it, actually begs him for it. Unfortunately adult tape measures are not toys for children. They have sharp edges and the tape itself rewinds quickly and could do some real damage to little fingers.I found this tape measure and gave it to her for Christmas. She shrieked loudly and never let go of it all day. She still plays with it daily. She loves to "build" things.I will continue to add to her tool collection with great toys like this. The tape measure works just like a adult version. It seems to be a quality toy that will last a long time. The colors are universal so boys and girls alike will enjoy playing with it. 5Junk.Garbage. We bought two, BOTH broke. This was not intended to survive a house with more than one child in it, the gold part at the end simply snaps off when pressure is applied (i.e. when big sister decides she's like a turn), at which point it presents a choking hazard for anyone under two (enter littlest brother) which is exactly why we purchased this instead of a regular tape (to provide some peace of mind). And guess what (surprise) the return window has closed. Don't make the same mistake, invest a couple bucks in a small tape and use with adult supervision! 1It just needs some matching tools!Purchased this for our 18 mo old granddaughter for Christmas from her grandpa. She goes for his tape measurer every chance she gets. She likes to pull the tape out, then hands it to a grown up to roll it in and start again. It's loud, going in or out, but we knew that because her mama had the same toy 25 years ago! So far it is holding up fine, she has played with it several times a week since she received it. I check on the tab and on the end of the tape every time I pick it up, to make sure there's no wear that I'm not aware of. It's a cute little tape measurer, when she's older we'll get her some tools to go with it. 4Apparently not very good quality.I bought this for my 3-year-old grandson for his birthday and he enjoyed measuring everything ... for about an hour, until it broke. I was watcing him throughout that time and he was not rough with it. It was a waste of money. 1Not worth the money...I thought this would have been built better since they said age 3+. My sons age 4 and 6 loved these, but they only lasted about a week. I ordered 2 and both of the yellow pieces on the end of the tape measure came off while they were measuring something and then before I could tell them to stop they wound the tape all the way up and we couldn't get it out. Made for some very disappointed little boys. 1End Breaks OffWe loved this measuring tape, and that it is one of the longer ones out there for children. Unfortunately, we bought two and each time the yellow end rips off. They don't even last a year, and we cannot even use it without the plastic case because the "0" begins where the yellow plastic begins. Now, we have bought two $1 measuring tapes in the sewing section of Walmart for our son. 1
