Customer Reviews

ONLY NEW NGC SLABS FIT - NOTHING ELSEVery cheap move on NGC's part - these really only fit new NGC slabs, old ones are tight at the bottom pushing the case out. ANYTHING OTHER THAN NEW NGC SLABS DO NOT FIT. Say goodbye to keeping your collection in numeric/date order if they are not new NGC slabs - put them somewhere else. 1Too tightSurprisingly this box I received is a very tight fit for older NGC slabs. If I put one in, you need a bit of force to take it out which probably wears out the sides of the slab itself. And it won't fit PGCS slabs at all due to raised slots at the bottom of the box! I will probably return this. 2Good storageGood storage to protect your slabs. Fits all brands of coin slabs...NGC, PCGS, etc., has individual slab slots. Sturdy and lid stays on nicely. Seems a bit pricey though, thus the four start rate. Amazon's performance good as always. Would recommend to friends. 4Works GreatServes the purpose I bought it for. It holds your NGC slabs in individual slots. Yes, it is ALL hard plastic and there is a slight play when holding your slabs. However, it s not that big of a deal and if you re worried about damage to the slabs this box will break long before that happens. Besides, the idea is to keep the slabs separated to prevent scratching, right? Well this will do that flawlessly unless you re the type that takes them in an open Jeep over rocky terrain. While unsecured in the backseat. Climbing up the side of a mountain on a long forgotten trail. I mean come on none of us do that, right? Likely these just go from in the safe, out, and back in again. Light duty which these can do well. I keep a couple slots open for color changing silica gel packets too. Works great. Note: It will NOT hold your PCGS slabs - they are too tall for the lid to close. 5Cover issueDoes what it's suppose to do holding slabs but my issue is the cover does not close or snap on. Seems the cover is a bit too small rendering the box not as useful as a storage container. This may be a one off defect, but wont take the chance again. 1Avoid This Box - They've Gotten PettyI do not recommend this box at all. I have an older NGC plastic storage box and it holds every slab that I had in my collection - both NGC AND PCGS. This newer box, although identical in appearance will not store the PCGS slabs anymore. They've added new flanges in the grooves that prevent the PCGS coins from going all the way in. Petty move NGC. No one was trying to avoid purchasing your once fine product just because they had a few slabs from a different grading company. To make matters worse, and I just recently discovered this,.... old NGC box lids are not compatible with the new boxes. Again, the boxes look identical, but apparently, in more than one way, they are not. 1Great box for NGC and PCGSUpon arrival, this fantastic box exceeded my expectations, and I had pretty high hopes for it. NGC slabs fit great, as expected, but surprisingly, PCGS slabs almost fit even better. Not to say that the NGC slabs don't fit well, but it seems like they designed this to fit both slabs (or it's simply coincidental). Either way, a great box.For fun, I threw in a couple 2.5" coin flips and they fit perfect as well. Though admittedly not an efficient way to store such a flip, it is possible. In my case, I have a few coins I'll be sending in to get graded soon so it felt like an appropriate place to store a handful of flips for the time being.Overall a well compact, well built, functional storage option for slabs. I have seen them about $5 cheaper elsewhere, but I don't feel bad about what I paid for it on Amazon. 5Perfect Addition To My CollectionI am a small collector of Silver Eagles. Over time and as I become more financially able, I changed from collecting Gem BU coins to NGC graded coins to enhance the value of my collection. I was having trouble storing my coins until I can across these holders.... the perfect addition to my collection. 5Best coin holder out there for the price.I like the way my grades couns fit into this holder. The lid comes off and on with very little struggle. I would like some kind of locking mechanism like a snap on lid. I have brought pcgs counholders and sent them back due to the fact they are a pain to get on once you take the lid off. Coun slots are not deep enough. I find NGC to be more sturdier in build also 4It holds 20 NGC slabs like the title suggestsIt holds 20 NGC slabs like the title suggests. Not surprising or amazing, It just does the job. The silver painted surface scratches/rubs off over time showing the white plastic beneath, so if you stack these or rub them against anything else they start to look worn like the paint on a 1985 Honda Civic in a junk yard. NGC should use colored plastic, not silver paint on white plastic because it is not a durable or long-lasting finish and shows wear far too easily when they know most people will be stacking these in a metal safe or against other metal objects. This box is worth $5 max because a Plano tackle box with 20 adjustable divisions costs $4 and it is very durable whereas this box's plastic is not flexible and will crack with a sharp blow or if you flex it a little. I'd pay $10 if they used colored plastic and changed it from brittle to flexible plastic. Until then I wouldn't buy another one of these and instead I'm using black Canadian 50x 10oz Silver Bar monster boxes to store slabbed coins because those boxes only cost $15 and hold about 100 slabs instead of just 20 like this does. 3
