    Velcro closure at crotch. The Velcro is heavy duty and doesn t easily separate but it is Velcro.I loved this swim trainer. My 3 year old fit it perfectly. It wasn t too big and it wasn t too small. It kept him afloat. The tube was inflated by lungs though I wanted to inflate with a pump for max air inside the tube. The Velcro closure at the crotch never came loose but I returned the item because I know there is another product like this one with the only difference being the type of closure at the crotch. One closes with Velcro (this one) and the other closes with a connecting buckle type of closure. Two plastic ends that snap together. I feel more comfortable with the type of closure that is locked into place the way life jackets connect and stroller or high chair belts. It just makes me feel like the closure is more secure than this Velcro. This was very heavy duty Velcro though. It didn t separate easily and as I said, it didn t come loose once. It wasn t cheap or dangerous at all. I just know that I prefer the other style swim trainer and would rather try that one since it s about $10 cheaper on Amazon and also prime eligibile. ThisSwim trainer did exactly as it is supposed to. If he jumped into the pool from the outside he would go completely under water for a fraction of a second and the surface instantly due to the float. So his head would go under water but it wasn t dangerous enough to cause chocking or water swallowing. That s the only time he was able to be head under water, if he jumped into the pool from the outside. Other than that the swIm trainer kept his head above water while swimming or floating better than his puddle jumper. This product is exactly what it says it is. A swim trainer. So expect your toddler to put in work moving their arms, legs or preferably, both as they play in the pool. If your Toddler gets lazy or doesn t understand the concept of kick and paddle, the will just stay still float with little movement. This style pool float is perfect for teaching toddlers how to swim. This could save life s if used to teach small kids how to swim in water without a safety vest or float. 4Great productMy grandchildren's parents laughed and said this was old times, but my granddaughter loves it. She had the other kind that attaches in the back and has arm floats attached and she didn't like it, and refused to wear it after I bought this for my pool. Well I think it is because it gives them balance and keeps their head up more from the water. 5Bad quality and it doesn t hold your child upThis is nothing like the old product. You blow it up like a $2 swim ring and while it floats it doesn t hold up a toddler. You must physically hold the ring in a front in order not to tilt your baby Hess down into the water. Don t bother buying says the disturber who previously owned 3 of these devices but where of a different quality and where like rubberized (tire) material. 1Not recommended >4 year oldNeeds the needlepoint machine air blower otherwise you're out of luck. Material is pretty sturdy, round donut is strong to carry even the heavy kid but the Velcro belt used to go between legs isn't that strong & way too long for a 2 year old to use, fits very loose on my 2 year old & floats over him. the shoulder band is also too long, falling off his shoulders.It best fits for 3 or 4 year old kid than a 2 year old. This product looks like an awesome swim guide but didn't fit my kid & by the time he was 3 or 4, the donut hole lost air & I don't have a needlepoint machine air blower to pump air into it so we tossed it away :/ 2Great item!I used this vest on my grandson while on vacation. It worked very well and I got it for a great price on Amazon. It was three times what I paid for it on other sites. Buy it you won't be disappointed. My grandson is 4 years old and 39 lbs. 5Honestly this is the BEST product!Honestly this is the BEST product !! We went through 5 others, some were similar styles to this one, others were completely different (life jackets, puddle jumpers etc...) but his one is the best !! I feel completely secure with my little on in it ..... she has independence and freedom that she wants, with the safety I need her to have. She is 2 and loves the water!! She can get in and out of the pool, swim to the other side, jump on the side into the pool, All on her own (of coarse we are in the pool just in case) but honestly she is fine ... Best Buy EVER!! 5Great intro to waterLove that is inflates and deflates, means we can take it with us when we travel. Gives my little one confidence in the water but allows water to get near and onto her face - I don't want her entirely protected from the water, and this allows her to get wet! I will say, do NOT think this is the kind of thing where you can put the kid in the pool and walk away - my kid figured out how to flip herself over pretty quickly. She thinks it is a fantastic game, and it is as long as there is a grown up there to flip her back right-side up! 5DO NOT BUY!!! NOT SAFE!! ...DO NOT BUY!!! NOT SAFE!!! If I could put 0 stars I would. My boys and I were in our pool. My 3 year old son was having a blast. My son was in the deep end of our 20x40 in ground pool that is 10 feet deep. The center strap popped and he went right out of the swim suit. He went right to the bottom. Luckily I was very attentive and was only in the shallow end. I swam and pulled him up and out. Had I not been right next to him watching him as I should he surly would have died. Thanks for nothing except a nightmares!!! DO NOT BUY. This product is not safe at all!!! 1The BEST!I purchased the SwimSchool version of this and it was extremely uncomfortable for my daughter. Went right up her butt and gave her a bit of a bruise down under. This material is super soft, is adjustable and enables little ones to swim with ease. Love it! 5DECEPTIVE AND DISAPPOINTING - Ordered a Poolmaster 05057, received a Poolmaster 50505.I did not receive a Poolmaster 05057. I received a Poolmaster 50505. I did not want a Poolmaster 50505 or I could have purchased one from any of a dozen websites. I could have purchased a 50505 in Blue but I went with this product in Orange because that was my only option for the elusive 05057. The reviews of 05057 state it has a tube that has to be filled with a Bicycle pump. That is the version I was seeking, the version I had when my kids were little, the version I wanted for my not yet 3 year old grandson. Instead I received a very cheaply made item I am unhappy with. The adjustable strap is NOT adjustable and though my grandson is only 3 ft tall it gave him a wedgie. The tube when fully blown up is nowhere near the size of the one pictured online. The girl in the photo appears much older and larger than my grandson and yet her tube is huge compared to the one I received. The tube itself does not inflate or fit smoothly within the fabric surrounding it. I payed Poolmaster price expecting quality and that did not happen. Extremely disappointed with this product and with Amazon 2
