Customer Reviews

Fun game, be aware this doesn't include standsFun game to play with 2 or 3 total people. Tiles are sturdy, the tin is good enough, and instructions/scoring is simple.Minor Con: The version I played (before buying my own) came in a box, not a tin, and had two-tier tile holders. This version in the tin does NOT include those holders. My mistake for not realizing this difference.Still, a fun game that takes 10-20 minutes per round. 4Great game; faulty merchandise.Great item; love this game! Unfortunately my merchandise arrived in awful conditions (I've left a package feedback but doubts it that helps). We've paid extra money for essentially the tin container and better game chips; but this specific item had a bent tin (that doesnt close securely anymore) and the chips are scratchy and some dirty looking. Tin was also very sticky and gross, poorly upcycled for re-sale.This item I've received was obviously used. And sold as new. My mother has the same game and hers looks better than mine although older!!!!!!I'm extremely disappointed for such a pricey item.... Never had I had this issue with any Amazon purchased merchandise :( 1FunI have looked for years for a set of these.Love this game.Packaged greatDid find a couple of slight flaws in the white of the triominos that I removed with a little work.Like the spinner features as well.I am going to purchase another set of the same ones again.Adding and subtracting throughout the game.Keeps us old folks minds active. This game helped me when I was young to add and subtract. 5Fun game...tedious score keepingWe initially played Tri-Ominos at a B&B we were staying at and enjoyed it enough to buy this version when we got home. We play it pretty frequently and enjoy it quite a bit; however, we did not care for the tedium of the score keeping and found it distracting from our enjoyment of the game. Keeping score by the official rules is too much a hassle (in our opinion). We devised a simplified approach that makes the game move along faster and more enjoyably. We simply quit scoring based on the numbers on the tiles. We play to go out, by matching tiles appropriately, or, if neither can, to have the least number of tiles in your rack at the end of play. We ignore the special bonus scores as well. We are toying with one variation that we might adopt permanently. That is when one player forms a closed hexagon, the opponent has to draw an extra tile. Our dumbed down version is not what the developer intended and may not suit many, but it keeps us coming back to this game frequently. If we maintained the official scoring we would have abandoned it by now. 4Really fun game, but tiles were imperfectOur family loves playing this game. When I took it to a family game night, everyone wanted to play it because "we have that in our house, but we never knew how to play it." I also felt like it was a good math and visual tool for my 7-year-old son.Now the reason it only got 3 stars is because the tiles are imperfect. You put the tiles in a pile and mix them around, face down. This causes the writing to not stay on well. Seems like the company, knowing that this is part of the rules, should have designed it more robust. Secondly, some of the tiles are not flat on the back. There are imperfections that once you have played the game a couple of times, you can cheat by knowing what numbers are on those marked tiles.I would definitely recommend the game, but find a higher quality set. 3Portable Family Fun!Our family LOVES Triominos and the tin box makes it easy to take the game with us when we go places together. If you've never played Triominos, it is like dominoes but with three sides that can be matched, giving one many more options at first, then only limited options a tiles are used up. It would be a little complicated for those under age 10, but pre-teens, teens, and adults would find it enjoyable. 5Highly RecommendOur family used to have a similar game when we were growing up (tiles were black and hollow). Now my siblings and I play it almost every Saturday afternoon. The tiles are a good weight and the center "pin" really helps to be able to grab them to turn them over. I would highly recommend. This takes you back to the "good ole days" of no computers/electronics. We are able to catch up and have fun at the same time. 5RULES CHANGE FOR TWO PLAYERSThis is a quality game from a manufacturer that puts a lot into its product. We play this game almost daily and so far the product has never disappointed. If there is any legitimate criticism it might be that to continue the game, according to the rules, we might need to buy more triominoes, but if playing only two players and choosing to pick up only one triominoe while unable to proceedplaying each player simply deducts 5 points from their score and relinguishes his or her turn. 4Pressman Triominoes in TinThis is a great game. We were introduced to it by friends who had a travel version - very basic, cheap plastic. We liked the game so much, we looked for a better quality version - and of course Amazon.com had several to pick from. We liked the tin this came in and the better quality triomino pieces that were solid and remind you of ivory. Delivery was fast and the product is super. We bought 2 - one for us and one for my wife's sister. When my brother from Colorado visited, they liked it so much, we bought 2 more and had them shipped to him. Great new version of dominoes. 5Not what was advertized. Very disappointing.I ordered this for my mother as we have set and thought she would enjoy playing with other family members back home. When I received the tin it was very small and said 'Travel Tri-ominos' on the tin. When ordering the game, there was no mention in the description that this set was small in size. The description also said this was a "Deluxe" set that was for 2 to 6 players but there were only 4 tile holders included so if it's for 6 players how are the other 5th and 6th players supposed to hold their tiles so other players can't see them. I paid $13 for the set that we got for us but paid $36 for this "Deluxe Tin" set that is smaller and didn't even have enough tile holders for the amount of players it said could play. I would NOT RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE. I'm returning it and will order the $13 set for my mother. 1
