Great for blasting wasp nests under second story eaves.My neighbor mentioned that mixing a little Dawn Dish Soap with water (1 Tbsp to 1 gallon) works great for killing wasps. I tried it and it worked great (20-second kill time)! A heavy duty hand spray bottle worked well for the nests on the 1st floor eaves but couldn't reach the second story eaves. This did the trick. Wasp problem gone and I didn't have to use the usual harsh chemical sprays or climb onto a lower roof (and get stung). This technique will save me a fair amount of money over time as the wasps come back every year. Haven't used the chemicals since learning this simple trick. By the way, the detergent solution works well for a lot of garden pests as well. Spray weevils, sucking bugs, etc. Dead within 30 seconds. The detergent solution coats the insects' body, preventing breathing through the pores. They suffocate quickly. Keep away from bees, ladybugs and other beneficial bugs. Just rinse the plants off with a water spray after a minute or two. 5Great for water fights!I have purchased many of these over the years! Be warned it does take a little upper body strength to fill and shoot these since it s a pull/push so best suited for teens or adults. Their our favorite to take out on the lake because they have just enough power to hit friends boats nearby for water fights. Taken them to the beach and on river rafts too! 5got this for keeping the pigeons off my roof (we ...got this for keeping the pigeons off my roof (we have solar panels so needed something that wouldn't damage them)-this works perfectly! 5Recommended, but only shoots about 40 feet.I order two of these for an upcoming annual canoe trip. I received them today and I took them out to the pool to test them out.Construction: Pretty solid, and it exceeded my expectations. Although I wouldn't call it "crush proof," the plastic was sturdier than I expected (considering the price). Other reviews I read reported leakage problems from the pistol grip end, so I filled mine up and tilted it into an upright position. After a few seconds, large water drops started dripping out at a pretty good rate -- but I expected something like that, and it's not something I'd really call a "leak." I don't plan on returning the two i bought based on this.Fill/Refill Rate: Very fast! Wow, I wasn't expecting it it to fill so quickly! It only takes about 2 seconds -- basically, it fills as fast as you can pull the plunger back. I'm pretty excited about this because it means that I can keep a relentless steam of water going during an attack. The fill rate definitely exceeds my expectations.Maximum Distance: 43 feet (about 14 yards). This distance more than meets my needs, but it's nowhere near the advertised "70 feet." The distance is dependent on the amount of pressure you can apply. I'm an adult male of average/above average upper body strength, and I could only achieve a distance of 43 feet (I literally measured it with a tape measure.)More for teens and adults: The packaging says it's for ages "5 and up," but I think it's more of a 12 and over item. It holds a lot of water and fulled loaded I think it would be too heavy for little kids. As I mentioned, its effective use is dependent on upper body strength, so again, I don't see little kids being able to shoot it more than a few feet. Lastly, this is the 36" model, so you need about a 4 foot arm span to pull the plunger all the way back.Overall impression: This is a great water gun for teens and adults at a very reasonable price! I only wish I had the ability to choose the colors. 5Throws water over 30 feet vertical!Yes, I got this water cannon to throw water high in the air - not just for horsing around in the pool. Those days of waiting for snow to melt off the satellite dish are behind me, now that I can shoot a blast of hot water directly at the dish after a snowstorm. I haven't measured the volume of water delivered, but it travels in a solid stream, with little spread at impact. It takes very little practice to hit a two-foot wide satellite dish on the roof, and it drips off quickly. I'm not trying to wash windows with it, but I suppose that would be possible to do as well. Just hold this water cannon with the barrel vertical after drawing up the volume you want to deliver, and rapidly push it all at once at your target. 5Five StarsVery handy to use from the deck when naughty kitties interfere with birds eating at the feeder. 5Water cannon delivering volumeI bought the stream machine to keep dogs and rabbits out of my garden. It's the best thing I have going for pest control. The dogs are my own, the older one is deaf and the smaller one goes nose blind, the stream machine can get their attention from 30 feet or so which is enough to keep them out of the vegetable garden. The rabbits are a bit harder to hit, they're fast and they react to the water stream before it gets to them, but they don't like being harassed and they've been scarce since this thing arrived.This is more of a water cannon than a water gun. It's basically one shot, a large plug of water, that has to be aimed in an arc for distance. The 35in model is a bit unwieldly, doubling to maybe 70in when the plunger is pulled back all of the way, but the added capacity gives heavier shots which gets the dogs attention. The advertised 70ft range is optimistic; 40ft is more reasonably attained and 20ft is probably maximum target distance for soaking rabbits. I keep mine next to the rain barrel as you need a bucket or pool or some easy water source to refill from as you're pretty much blasting the full barrel with each shot.At the very least, there's some cathartic and vengeful value in startling animals in the garden with a large plug of water. 5Discourages Turkey VulturesMy husband uses this to shoot at Turkey Vultures on our two story roof. It works because they are there much less than in previous years. 5Excellent wild critter countermeasure.... Yessssssss!Due to my idiot neighbor constantly feeding them, we've had more than a few problems with skunks in my neighborhood. I needed something to get their attention (the skunks... not the neighbor) and to make them feel unwanted, WITHOUT me getting close enough so that they could retaliate and stink me. THIS TOOL HAS WORKED PERFECTLY FOR THAT JOB! Come summertime, it will probably be great fun to use in & around the pool too, but for now my best estimate is that it can easily shoot water over 50 feet away. I've nailed the skunks enough times now so that now, they only have to hear the sound of me fumbling with it, as I prepare to fill it, and they run for cover. They apparently don't appreciate being wet down.If you have a wild critter problem, and other solutions have failed, try one of these. I looked, and I don't think you'll find any other kind of squirt gun anywhere on the Internet that will shoot as far. 5The water tube was easy to fillI bought this to try and get rid of a pesky raccoon that was visiting my patio daily. The water tube was easy to fill, but was extremely long once filled. But I was able to grab it in the middle, aim, and shoot, the little guy smack in the side with a lot of water force. He started to run, stopped, and took a look at what hit him, and needless to say I have not seen him since. Money well spent. 4
